3DS XL/2DS Pokemon Deal

Apparently, if you purchase a Nintendo 3DS XL or a Nintendo 2DS in the month of March, along with one of Animal Crossing: New Leaf, Super Mario 3D Land, Yoshi's New Island, Mario Kart 7, Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D, or LEGO City: Undercover, you can get a FREE download code for Pokemon X or Pokemon Y.



This is from Toys 'R' Us, but apparently it isn't just for that store. At least as far as I can tell. But this might not be the case, it wasn't really clarified from Toys 'R' Us.

It sucks that it's not a retail copy. Though this is a good for anyone looking to get a 3DS XL or 2DS.

I wonder if this deal will be good with any of the bundled Xl's that have those games with the 3DS already; cause then that'd be the way to go. Otherwise, this 'deal' is a travesty as you'd end up spending way too much money just to get one Pokemonz game "for free" for this "deal" impo. -_-

Well, Pokemon is a popular game, many people are buying the console FOR Pokemon. 

Honestly? I think it's a pretty good deal. If you have intentions of buying a game listed and a 2DS anyway, you get Pokemon for free? 

Or if you wanted Pokemon technically you could argue you're getting one of the listed games for free. 

Since both Pokemon and Animal Crossing are both pretty casual games to get into and VERY popular ones, I say this deal is really nice.


It's a shame it likely wont come to the UK and the Pokemon game isn't Physical, as I would consider buying a 2DS and a listed game I don't have to get another copy of pokemon. >u>

Well I would agree, but I think this deal is meant for those already planning to purchase a 3DS XL/2DS and one of the 6 games listed, yeah you might be spending more than you'd need to if you didn't want one of the 6 games or a new 3DS, but if you do, you're actually saving a lot. Although digital Pokemon probably isn't a good thing, what if your SD Card was corrupted and all of your Pokemon data was deleted? That would suck so much...

Well from what I've experienced anytime you have a digital game get corrupted you can always redownload it for free; it is a game you already own so it's not like it's bad to go digital. It would suck initially but I wouldn't mind starting over really.

Still Idk.. I still don't think this deal is very good. It'd be better if you could get a small discount on either the 3DS or the game & still get Pokemonz for free impo. But remember one thing: I am very oddish.

Isn't getting the game for free the "small discount"? 

Digital games aren't bad or "risky" at all. They work just as well as any software. 

I really can't see how "3DS + Game you want = Free Game" can ever really be a bad deal. I mean, it can get better, everything could be better than it is... but to "opt out" because it isn't good enough is silly. 

If you wanted Pokemon and AC (two games I'm guessing you play) and didn't have a 3DS, you'd jump at this deal.
