I might be laughed at here; however, my main was actually Pichu. I found him extremely adorable the first time I saw him and ever since he has been my main (it wasn't just his cuteness that won me over, but his gameplay style was also rather enjoyable to learn).
Additionally, Pichu really does give that notability of achievement whenever one defeats his friends with the character.
