Now this is something that's popped up recently. All the teachers at school tell you to get good grades so you can become a success. All parents say that you must get good grades to become a success.

Seems legitimate right? No. Not at all.

In this world, especially England, our jobs are being taken by immigrants. This annoys me to no end as it is but this is the problem. Even if we get good grades there won't be many jobs to fill and I guarantee that someone in the world will beat you and get the job first. No matter how hard you try someone will always beat you. This is why no one should care about grades.

    Here's a little story.

My uncle's friend currently works cleaning caravans. From that you can say that she has low qualifications. Now what if I told you she was able to code computers up to a high standard and has very high grades from uni at all Science and Maths. This is the point.

So don't particularly worry about your top grades. Winston Churchill didn't and he became Prime Minister.

My advice would be to start your own company or be in one that has no boss like Valve. Pays a lot more and you don't have a nagging boss.

While that can be true a lot of the time, getting bad grades when you are in school can't help either. While many jobs may be taken, and it may be difficult to find a particular job you want, you more than likely won't be hired. It does depend on the job though.

I really wish school grades didn't have as much of a factor as they actually do in obtaining a career. If you understand the material or at least what you need for the job, does it matter all that much?

Better Grades give you a better reputation.
People will want to hire your more than others.
Getting Ds in everything will have you working as a cashier. Razz

I wouldn't care about reputation as that alone doesn't get you a job.
May be true but you've gotta remember that 700 people are also fighting for the job.
Getting good grades will probably have you working as a cashier.

While you may end up working at a cashier, or just another bad/uninteresting/low-paid job when you get good grades, it's unlikely you'll be able to get anything else when they're not so great. There's a much more likely chance you'll get the job you wanted, or just a good job in general, when getting good grades;even if it's possible you won't. Employers do tend to look at school grades when hiring.

Why take the risk though? Why just not just make your own company. It isn't too difficult if you have the knowledge. It guarantees you a job that you want and there isn't a lot of hassle.

This is something my engineering teacher told us about.  But in doesn't change the fact that you still need to focus on grades.  The 2 most important things in getting a high quality job are getting education and experience.  By going to college for say, scientific study, you learn about it, while gaining experience that can give you a better chance of finding an employer.  Its grades + experience, you shouldn't just completely toss grades out the window, they still have importance, even if its not incredibly important by itself

What if you don't want to create a new company? You may want to, and that's fine, I'm sure you'll be just fine if you try and do that. But others may want a job already available, rather than creating a new company.

    It's true.
