    What do you think were the worst changes made from a game to (one of) it's sequels?

    I'd say:

    - Use of the dark and realistic graphics in Twilight Princess, yeah that doesn't affect the gameplay, but it's still an annoying change as it could sometimes be hard to see what's going on, and the graphics aged really quickly

    - Changing Metroid to a first-person 3D shooter. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE the Metroid Prime games, but I find it much easier to play when it's in 2D.

    - Making the 3D Mario games completely linear...this is why I liked the 3D Mario series to begin with and they just totally removed the sense of adventure :/

    - Removing microgames in Game and Wario, the main part of the series, the game seems pretty bad now

    - Stickers in Paper Mario Sticker Star, I can't even express my hate for the concept, it's just so terrible and annoying

    I could think of more I'm sure. But I'll have to see what else there is.

    Paper Mario Sticker Star's gameplay mechanic, I just can't stand the amount of sticker saving/grinding/guessing you need for the bosses and other enemies in the game, then you need the specific ones for obstacles in the field adding unnecessary backtracking.

    They still had the microgames in Gsme & Wario for one of the games.

    Here are some that I thought of.

    - Most follow ups to mobile games since not as much time goes into the game.

    - Reusing most of the the ideas in every NSMB game.

    - Making the gameplay and story worse in Metroid Other M,

    - Some other by yearly game series being changed to yearly games. I just think that some series like Batman and Skylanders would be better in the long run if they released every other year.

    When Final Fantasy XIII became more linear then it was about the gameplay or story.

    When Final Fantasy 15 was announced to be an action RPG: I cringed.

    & In the Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Gates to Infinity game: you didn't get chased off by your peers but went on a journey of discovery instead. Yea I guess the story was a bit more interesting; but I liked getting chased to the ends of the earth from before. :/ xp

    The sticker mechanics of PM:SS and the lack of horror in recent Resident Evil games.
