Shadow Mewtwo is playable and a Shadow Mewtwo card will included for a limited time.

If Nintendo makes more cards for the game it can be an easy money maker for them and I guess Shadow Mewtwo is better then nothing.

    Is Sceptile the next character?

Serebii. net wrote:Last week it was announced that a new character and set of support Pokémon are to be revealed on Thursday. Today, an image has started going round which show Pokénchi presenter Shoko Nakagawa playing the game but on the back there is a sign which showcases Sceptile as a playable character as well as Electrode and Farfetch'd as support Pokémon. This is currently unconfirmed but we'll provide details on who is revealed soon, hopefully by Thursday, so keep checking back.

I guess this means that Swampert is also coming at some point. You also have to wander if there will be any 5th or 6th Pokemon at this point.

Wasn't this leaked awhile ago? I think it was a different image but I remember Sceptile being leaked already a few weeks ago. (unless I'm mistaken)

It was the first picture I saw.

    Here's the trailer.

Sceptile looks pretty cool and part of me feels like he was added do to the anime and being a requested character for Smash Bros over the last few years.

Sceptile is fairly surprising, I didn't expect that. Being a Hoenn starter and having a mega evolution made it more likely though. With ORAS being the latest Pokémon games it makes sense to have Hoenn Pokémon and ones that can mega evolve. Swampert seems likely now, I'd like to see that considering Mudkip is my favorite starter (I'm still hoping for Lopunny and Medicham).

The grass attacks are showy and look like some fun to use. Not the best but it's good.

    Yeah, and where's Pikachu?

Maybe it's because I don't play much Pokemon but Sceptile really isn't all that surprising to me as a character addition. He seems to have a cool moveset.

The arcade controller will be made for the Wii U version in Japan.

This is nice and I can see it coming out worldwide if the support is there.

I didn't know what the controller for this game looked like until a little earlier. It looks nice but having the ZL and ZR buttons there looks a little less comfortable than having them as shoulder buttons. It makes it more different than the Wii U Pro Controller and Wii U Gamepad at least. It's good Japan has the arcade controller as an option.

I mean, I don't see much of a point in offering that since it has the same buttons and layout as the Gamepad and Pro Controller...but I guess it makes it more fair for those who were already used to playing the arcade version.

Ah sounds exciting. I think it's very likely to be Swampert. With there being many reasons they would make that choice such as to complete the Hoenn starter trio and it can mega evolve into a very burly looking creature.

Vanilliluxe? I'd honestly like to see that, it would be a very strange fighter. I'm surprised Lopunny isn't listed, it can mega evolve into a part fighting type with the scrappy ability so it has plenty of moveset potential. Although that would mean another fighting type in a way and the game should have all types covered first. I'd really like to see Lopunny join. Marowak would be another interesting choice. Hitmontop would be amazing though that's another fighting type.

I have a feeling that Diancie or Hoopa could happen.

Mewtwo, Braixen and Garchomp join the battle.

I really like how they picked a new odd ball in Braixen even if it being Serena's Pokemon made it popular.

Mewtwo and Garchomp are popular so it's not very surprising. Although I didn't think of Garchomp despite being a good choice for a fighter. Braixen was quite shocking, more than Delphox would be. It makes sense with Serena owning one in the anime and I hear people prefer Braixen's design, I prefer Delphox's design myself. Braixen can really stand out with that stick.
