My top 10 Mario Power-ups

The Mario series has had many Power-ups over the years. So what ones will or won't make my top 5?

The Rainbow Star just beats the Super Star out a little more since the colors stand out a bit more and it should became the Super Star of the 3D games since it's nice to see even a slight change in powers once in a while.

The Bee mushroom is quite unique since it lets Mario stick to honeycombs, fly and walk on clouds. The fact that you also lose the power if you hint the water also makes it a little tricky to use in a few levels.

The Penguin Suit is quite a handy power since it lets Mario and the crew get past water and ice levels more easy. It also lets Mario throw Ice balls so it kind of makes the ice flower a bit useless.

Somehow I didn't notice this thread until now. I actually kind of like the bee suit, but the other two are a little boring to use.

The Rock Mushroom was a unique idea since you could destroy large groups of foes at once or you could break objects you could not as regular Mario. I also like the way it was used in that one boss fight.

I thought the rock mushroom was decent, but it was more of a power-up that could be used for 1 or 2 levels. I'm not surprised it hasn't stuck around.

The Fire Flower is a basic power-up that's been around for 30 years. With that said I liked how it was better in the Galaxy with the timer since it made you think before you used it. Though it was a bit of a nightmare in the levels where you clean out the trash.

Well obviously that's a classic powerup, it's certainly useful when there aren't any others available in the more recent Mario titles. It was interesting how it was used in the Galaxy games too.

The Mega Mushroom is a very fun power-up since you can just crash everything in your path. I only wish it showed up more though.

The Mega Mushroom is pretty fun to use, but it makes sense it doesn't show up that often, it's too powerful.

The Cloud suit is very useful if you use long jumps and I like how it was used in the cloud stages and the final stage in the game.

One of Mario's newest power-ups the Double Cherry make you think how to plan your jumps in  tricky levels such as the beat block levels and levels where you need to keep three of the clones alive if you want the green stars.

The Super leaf is just great since it has so powers such as flight, tail spin and hovering. all though the flying was removed in recent games the Super Leaf is still one of the best power-ups.

The Super Bell is my favorite Mario power-up since it makes Mario and his friends get those Golden flag poles easy and the cat swipe attack was also very helpful through out the levels.

YES, the Super Bell is the best Mario power-up ever. It just feels so natural and fun...you have to use it to understand it's greatness.
