Since Mario Kart 8 comes out in a few hours in North America. I'm looking back at some of the tracks I liked the best over the years.
Super Mario Kart
Ghost Valley 2
I liked how this course had tons of Boos in it along with tight turns.
Mario Circuit 4
I had to pick a Mario Circuit so I want with this one since it will likely look great when it makes a comeback someday.
Donut Plains 3
I liked how this course made you think about turns and this course looks great in Mario Kart 8.
Vanilla Lake 2
I always like ice courses and I liked this one more then Lake 1 since it was a mix of water and ice.
Rainbow Road
I think this is one of the worst Rainbow Roads but, it's still one of the best tracks for it's time and Mario Kart 7 made the course better.
Mario Kart 64
Koopa Troopa Beach
This course just looked great and I thought it was cool how you raced on a beach in 3D.
Kalimari Desert
I also like Dessert tracks quite a bit and It was cool how you had to stop for the train.
Royal Raceway
Just being able to drive through Peach's castle made this course great. With that said though this course still looks good in Mario Kart 8.
Bowser's Castle
I think I liked this Bowser's Castle since it was based off of Paper Mario 64 and the music was just great.
Rainbow Road
I really liked all of the fireworks and details. Also the course looks even better in Mario Kart 8.
Mario Kart Super Circuit
Riverside Park
I really liked this course do to all of the water and it's great to race on.
Cheese Land
I just liked racing in those Cheese Land.
Sky Garden
I liked how you could race on top of the clouds.
Sunset Wilds
Driving during this time was cool and track has a nice layout.
Ribbon Road
This was just a great idea for a track and I'm sad that it's not coming back for Mario Kart 8.
Mario Kart Double Dash
Baby Park
This course brought a new idea to the table and it's always fan to lap the computer players.
Dry Dry Desert
This is the Desert track I liked the most at of any Mario Kart. It also looks ever better in Mario Kart 8 even if some things got taken out.
Daisy Cruiser
I like how you could through a Cruiser and I liked how the underwater made the course better in Mario Kart 7.
Wario Colosseum
I like how this was a 2 lap course and it's a shame that it did not return in Mario Kart 8,
Dino Dino Jungle
Who ever thought there would be a track with Dinos? I also liked how there were 2 different paths you could pick.
Mario Kart DS
Luigi's Mansion
It was cool how you could race through the Mansion and the Boos were great again.
Delfino Square
I liked how you race through part of Island Delfino and the music was good.
Waluigi Pinball
It was just great how this track was based off of a pinball machine.
Tick-Tock Clock
This course was a nice throwback to Super Mario 64 and I can't way to race on it in Mario Kart 8.
Wario Stadium
I'm not really a fan of this course in DS but, it looks better in Mario Kart 8.
Mario Kart Wii
I really liked the cows in this course and almost looks like a new course in Mario Kart 8.
Coconut Mall
Driving through the mall was cool and again I like how there's so many different paths.
DK Summit
After thae letdown of DK Pass the DK tracks might not ever be as the good as they once were. DK Summit brought the good feel back to DK tracks and I really wanted to return in Mario Kart 8.
Wario's Gold Mine
I think this track brought the gold back to Wario tracks and I liked that shortcut you take were the mine kart is kind of blocking.
Maple Treeway
I like how this track was based off of Autumn and the Wigglers were great hazards.
Mario Kart 7
Shy Guy Bazaar
This course just had a great layout and the music was also great.
Music Park
I liked how this track was based off of music. However, it's looking like the worst retro track in Mario Kart 7 since it's not changed at all.
Piranha Plant Slide
This course is kind of based of the 8 bit Mario days and I like the changes made to it in Mario Kart 8.
DK Jungle
I like how this course is based off of DKCR and the music is great. I also like the small changes made to in Mario Kart 8.
Rosalina's Ice World
I liked how this course was a mix of water and ice. It's kind of a shame that it did not return in Mario Kart 8 since part of the course looked like it was made for anti gravity.
