Alison Rapp, a now former Nintendo of America employee, has been terminated from her job, which may be due to people online reporting supposed information about her to Nintendo. These people harassed her online for months due to her supposed involvement in censorship in localizing Nintendo games, which she claims to have nothing to do with. (which is likely true) While she won't give many details it is assumed that Nintendo took these information claims seriously and fired her for supposedly being a pedophile based on an essay she wrote many years ago which wasn't actually a good supporting argument towards it at all. I'm very much disappointed in Nintendo of America for this move. I've said it before and I'll say it again, I hate NoA as a company and think they are truly a disgrace. As much as I love the whole of Nintendo NoA makes some terrible decisions, and firing an employee based on such little evidence for something that didn't matter and due to her being harassed, despite doing nothing wrong is yet another one of those decisions.
Of course some people are taking this too extremely in terms of Nintendo as a whole with not buying their products, personally I'm not boycotting them due to that, especially considering NoA isn't even the one making the products, but I feel horrible for Alison, losing employment due to such miniscule and unrequited reasons is just a terrible thing.
EDIT: Nintendo has released the following statement regarding her termination:
I'm incredibly glad they did this and to know that it wasn't based on the assumed subject. Nintendo tends to keep very quiet on subjects like this and to know that they made a statement regarding her being fired is great.

EDIT: Nintendo has released the following statement regarding her termination:
Alison Rapp was terminated due to violation of an internal company policy involving holding a second job in conflict with Nintendo’s corporate culture. Though Ms. Rapp’s termination follows her being the subject of criticism from certain groups via social media several weeks ago, the two are absolutely not related. Nintendo is a company committed to fostering inclusion and diversity in both our company and the broader video game industry and we firmly reject the harassment of individuals based on gender, race or personal beliefs. We wish Ms. Rapp well in her future endeavors.
