[RUMOR] NX to be Revealed in a Direct This Month, Named Nintendo Extra or NEX

Now there's so many rumors regarding NX lately (like way more than we normally see before a console reveal and we generally have tons of them) that I don't feel the need to post most, but this one caught my attention just because there seems to be so many others posting independently pretty similar info.

A supposed game dev working on a game for NX using Unreal Engine 4 has supposedly leaked some information about the console. This person says it is a home console, with at least 2 games being developed for it using Unreal Engine 4. (one of them being their game, one being a first party Nintendo title, and possibly others as well) They also said that it is using ARM architecture, not x86, and will be slightly more powerful than PS4. (with the CPU being about 30% more powerful, and GPU being about 50% more powerful, with 12GB of RAM, 9 of which being used for Nintendo OS, the console's operating system) The supposed leaker also stated that the console will be named "Nintendo Extra" shortened to "NEX."

So this is interesting. I honestly don't really believe it, but with how many people seem to be leaking this same information I figured it deserved a thread. Extra doesn't sound like a name Nintendo would use, but I actually kind of like it. It has a nice ring to it, same with it's abbreviation.

Maybe it will be reveled in April since some other insider said that there will be a media event in April. With that said I kind of doubt this is true since there have so many leaks happening over the last few days.

An April reveal? I kind of doubt it, I can see the reveal some time closer to when E3 takes place tbh. Peoples are just impatient & are circulating rumors just to get Nintendo to reveal their next console sooner would be my guess.

I really don't like the name. It doesn't sound like a good name compared to other Nintendo consoles. Like how Wii U was a really confusing name but it still sounds fun to say, Extra doesn't sound as nice, it just makes me think of the Wrigley's gum more than anything.

I completely agree with you.

For all we know the NX is just an update add on so that you can play any game that you can play on the NEW 3DS to the Wii U & Wii U games on the New 3DS. Sort of like a connect & play kind of thing & not a new console at all. :p (Or even a tablet/phone thing.)
