So the other day Nintendo reveled that Fire Emblem is now one of the big series. Here are the franchise that made my top 10. Please note that the Mii series, Splatoon and Smash will not be included to sake things up a bit.

Back in the early 2000's Metroid was Nintendo's power trio along with Mario and Zelda. Since the end of the Wii era though the Metroid series has not even had a main series game so the series was passed by a number of other franchises. With that said Federation Force and the talk about a Prime 4 proves that Nintendo still has a little hope for Metroid.

Nooooo I was hoping to see Splatoon. D: At least that means it's probably at the top.

Metroid is fantastic, I personally love the 2D games just a bit more but Prime is pretty great too. Looking forward to Federation Force even if nobody else is!

Back in the N64 and Gamecube days Star Fox was a big series for Nintendo. Sadly Star Fox is on thin ice after the poor sales of 64 3D and Star Fox Zero. There might be a little hope though since Nintendo did make the first ever spinoff in Star Fox Guard.

     My rankings Nintendo's top 10 franchises Pikmin_logo_1_tumblr

Pikmin is one of the newer Nintendo series that really took off with the fanbase back on the Gamecube and since they 2 other games have released. With Pikmin 4 coming at some point the Pikmin series has a bright future.

It's hard to believe that Fire Emblem used to be a really small series and it was even in danger of being canceled. However the sales of Awakening and Fates have boosted Fire Emblem into a big series and it's even getting a mobile game in a few months. The fate of Fire Emblem sure is bright for the time being.

Pikmin is amazing. It's insanely creative, really addictive, and can be both relaxing for taking in the sights and sounds of the worlds but also really intense and difficult.

     My rankings Nintendo's top 10 franchises Animal_Crossing_Logo

In the past Animal Crossing just looked like a very boring game to me. When I played New Leaf though I got so hooked that I played it daily for almost 3 months and it's still a nice game to play every now and again. Since New Leaf the series has had 2 spinoffs and a mobile game is on the way. 16 Animal Crossing amiibo where also released for the 2 spinoff games and characters like Villager and Isabelle have been in the group artwork with the other icons. The future of Animal Crossing can only get better from here.

     My rankings Nintendo's top 10 franchises Donkey-Kong-Logo

The reason I listed Donkey Kong this high is due to how important is was in Nintendo's early days and even now. The Donkey Kong Country games always being something new to the table and it's one of the series that stayed good when a different developer was handed the series after the Rare buyout. I can't wait to see how great the NX Donkey Kong Country will look in a few years.

Zelda is Nintendo's biggest series in the west and it's the only series people can get exited for when only a small trailer is shown. For me I have only been able to beat one main series game so fair and I hope to beat more down the line.

I often feel like Kirby is Nintendo's most underrated series. Over the years the Kirby series has had new main and spinoff games and the series even has it's own amiibo line. I put it at number 4 due to the market for the younger and older gamers out there.

     My rankings Nintendo's top 10 franchises Pokemon-logo-vector

Since it's introduction in 1996 the Pokemon series has sold over 200 million units worldwide and the series is also pretty big outside of the games. Such as floats, Build-A Bear, toys and even real life Pokemon centers. The upcoming games Sun and Moon should also pull in pretty good sales this holiday season.

     My rankings Nintendo's top 10 franchises Super-Mario-Logo

The Super Mario series has sold over 400 million units worldwide and it's a series that even the older generation heard of. Like Pokemon Mario is also big outside of games with things such as toys, clothes and even recently shoes. Even though the series has been in decline in recent years I feel like the NX will being the Mario series back into the limelight with a fresh new 3D Mario game.
