When will there be a new Nintendo Direct?

So in recent times we have returned to the Nintendo Direct drought since there has not been a broadcast since March. While we know that Nintendo has very few games coming out in the coming months there could still be minis for indie games, Star Rush info and the final 3 Smash Bros amiibo. Is Nintendo waiting until the NX is out to reveal the new look of the Directs or are they a thing of the past?

I'm honestly not sure. It seems like they're done with them for now, and there probably won't be another one until probably December. I feel like they're going to reveal NX, then a couple months later there will be a Direct for new information about all of the NX launch titles and to show off a few things coming later in 2017, either in December or January. For now it seems like they're holding off for awhile.

Personally I feel that the Direct was Iwata's thing, & is now a part of his legacy: if you will. May-hap the new president doesn't want to be a part of that legacy & would rather leave it to people he feels could better represent Nintendo such as Reggie & Phil? Still, I feel that after Iwata passed & the new president was initiated, that the Directs are going to become ever slowly a thing of Nintendo's past. The wave of the future is internet promotion by using old & new ways to advertise themselves; with television/cable ads, movie ads, social media, youtube advertising, twitter, & the like.

Personally I feel late August/early September for any kind of "direct". Doesn't have to be a direct it self but I can't see them revealing too much part-way through this month. If anything earlier, woulda been at the beginning but of course that didn't happen. Only Pokemon news
