Lady Layton: The Millionaire King's Plot

The next game in the Layton series has been revealed for Nintendo 3DS, releasing in spring 2017, as Lady Layton: The Millionaire King's Plot.



This is pretty interesting! I knew they were likely to continue the series even though it had technically ended, this seems like a good way to do it by introducing a new main character. I like it.

What I find interesting is that this time it's a FEMALE main character. Me thinks that perhaps Lvl 5 is trying to get girls/women into this series; who haven't been into this series before. Like me. It's interesting to see it continued this way, but I'm still not interested. I'll of course show this to Jing who's a huge fan of the Layton series thou.

I also agree with Queen about Level 5 trying to get more females into the series. This game is also better then just rebooting Layton from the start in pulling the different world card.

It sounds as though the gameplay will be broadly similar to the Professor Layton games, but I wonder whether they'll be introducing some significant new elements, since....well, it's called something else now ?

^ I'm sure they will, I can't imagine they'd add nothing at all to spice things up a bit since the actual Professor Layton series is over. I mean it is a different main character, but I feel like even outside of that and other characters or possibly story elements, there will probably be a few other changes. I'd hope so anyway, but then again I've never really played any of the Professor Layton games, so what do I know? :p

So is Lady Layton related to Professor Layton in anyway? I'm really interested in this, though the only game in the series I've played was the crossover with Professor Layton. I do want to play the Professor Layton games eventually. This is an interesting revival.

Lady Layton looks really cute, I adore her design. I enjoy the animated style like the rest of the Layton games. I'd like an English version of the trailer. Or at least subtitles.

I'm guessing there will also be new elements such as better jumping as seen in the trailer and likely puzzles with quicker movement since Lady is much younger then Layton.

Ah, thank you @Gameguy1996! So she's Professor Layton's daughter? That's pretty interesting. I wonder if he'll have some kind of role in the game or if he'll just be absent for whatever reason.
