No news on whether it's handheld or a home console, or both.
Just that it will have to do with DeNA and their new membership program.

I guess it's Nintendo's next console? I'm assuming if we won't get new details until next year, it's probably the handheld/home console hybrid they've been hinting at. I've never even heard of DeNa until today, so I'm not sure what'll go on with that.

I think the info will be at next year's E3 and the NX will end up coming out in late 2017.

NX will most likely be their smart phone. You buy the Nintendo brand smartphone & you get access to all of their free apps, games, & get an extra free month that you get 0% apr financing added to your phone credit.

Why not? Every one is asking what the "NX" is & who's to say that I'm not right? I can honestly say that I don't believe for a minute that Nintendo will give over their rights to smartphones & mobile devices so easily unless they get in on the market too.

They way you said it, was as if it was sarcasm, combining with the fact it won't happen, it's a "dedicated game system".
Posts like that add nothing to the discussion.

But Nintendo has said that they are getting into the smart phone & tablet market with their games. Who's to say they won't develop their own smartphone or tablet? Both are seen as mediums for playing games; so I don't see why it isn't something to consider.

Micorsoft has their own phone & tablet, why can't Nintendo do the same?

Microsoft makes everything Yusei.
Plus, when they say it's a game system, it's a game system.

How do you know? Are you a Nintendo insider who can tell us that it's for certain another console? If so then I'll believe you. But I know your not.

Alright let's settle this. XD First of all, Nintendo has confirmed it's completely separate from the smartphone business. They are going to be developing games with the DeNA partnership for smart devices, but NX is a dedicated gaming console for core gamers, their next generation console after Wii U, that has nothing to do with their other new business venture into smart devices. Iwata said he revealed that they are working on NX to make sure people don't think Nintendo is going to only be making games for smartphones now or that they're going third party, because they're not, and are still developing their own hardware.

But Luma, you said nothing about this in the original post, so I don't think you can really say that. Queen was confused and Yusei was supporting her is what I see. But no bans will be going on for this anyway.

It could be just the next handheld though since if it comes out in 2017 and by that time the 3DS will likely juzt have 3rd party games made for it and for we know the NY might also be in the works.

Judging by the X in it, that could mean "cross" though.

I think it could be Nintendo Cross, if it ends up being the handheld/console hybrid. Otherwise I have no idea, it's probably just a codename that has no real meaning behind it, but you never know. DS turned out to stand for something, and ended up being the console's actual name too.
