Re: Nintendo Switch
That's a great price, and I would definitely purchase day one for that. I still kind of expect it to be closer to $300 though. That's what I've been expecting since announcement, but I suppose we'll have to wait and see.

Re: Nintendo Switch
Here's new rumors from Emily Rogers! She says there will be a TON of first party blockbusters for Nintendo Switch within its first year. Planned games include "3D Mario + Zelda + Pokemon + Mario Kart + Splatoon + New IP + Retro Studios game + Pikmin 4...that's first 12 months of Switch"
Not to mention possible other titles releasing next year from both first and third parties. That's a STELLAR lineup, especially for the first year of a console. If this is true I'm VERY excited, but nothing excites me more than the fact that PIKMIN 4 IS POTENTIALLY COMING NEXT YEAR. AH.

Re: Nintendo Switch
Sounds more like a fan wishlist if you ask me. I doubt Nintendo will play all there big cards at once and we know how they like to take there time when it comes to putting out the big hits.

Re: Nintendo Switch
Here's some more Nintendo Switch rumors from Laura Dale:
- system is connected to the dock by USB-C
- Switch's components will run at a higher clock speed to facilitate 1080p resolutions on the TV
- video and power will be transferred over USB-C when docked
- plugging the system into the dock will also activate a small additional fan to help with cooling
- fan is in the rear of the dock, and there is a gap in the back of the dock to allow the system’s inbuilt fans to vent
- dock is light weight and is designed to be cheap to produce
- some time after launch, additional docks will be sold to place in differing rooms if you have multiple TVs
- the January 13th reveal events will feature near retail level hardware
- each title will be locked to playing one game demo
- press will be free to take the systems to a separate area of the event to play on sofas
- when returning to TVs, they will not be required to return the system to the same dock it started at
- events are held at a large number of small sessions
- each has a minimal number of press in attendance to ensure hardware is kept track of
- UK Press are required to RSVP for the event by 11:59PM December 8th 2016

Re: Nintendo Switch
Do you want to try the Switch before release? If you get a My Nintendo invite or you live near one of the location you might have a chance.
I live about 45 minutes away from San Fran so I could make it to the public day if the lines are not crazy and I guess My Nintendo members with an invite would be in a VIP section.

Re: Nintendo Switch
I doubt I'll get an invite considering I don't really use My Nintendo. (it's terrible) Washington DC would be the closest location to me and that would be a trip if I did want to go, but depending on what I'm doing at the time I might try to do it.

Re: Nintendo Switch
I'd only go if I was assured not to get one of those fiddly joycontroller things. I'd much rather play with the sturdier controllers shown playing on one of the games myself.

Re: Nintendo Switch
New possible Nintendo Switch details from recent patents:
There's some interesting stuff here, but I feel like 90% of it was already assumed. Still nice info though! It should turn out to be true based on what we know and have seen.
– Images / text pertaining to HMD (head-mounted display) / VR
– Touch panel / touchscreen mentioned
– Gyro support is apparently in
– Shows two full controllers / four half JoyCons being connected at once
– Alternate JoyCon configurations with actual d-pads
– Shoulder buttons on JoyCons (L/R)
– Seems to confirm right JoyCon has an IR sensor (ie pointer)
– Both JoyCons have rumble motors
– NFC is in the right JoyCon
– The grip controller is basically a battery pack
– Seems to show fan in the Dock
– Seems to further suggest USB-C
– Console mode and portable modes mentioned where portable mode has less capability than docked mode
– One portion of the patent essentially talks about a sleep mode

Virtual Reality? Really? I thought Nintendo was staying away from that. <.<;

Re: Nintendo Switch
^ Yeah if it is included I probably won't ever use it. Although the way it sounds based on the patents just seems to be that it would be compatible with VR devices, so that may not actually come until sometime later, or it might only be for third party VR devices in general.

Re: Nintendo Switch
I'm hoping it's for third party VR devices to be able to be used with it so that Nintendo actually are for once doing what they claimed to be doing when they said they won't be going the VR road. But still, you never know with Nintendo.

Re: Nintendo Switch
^ I agree. I will say, it's something I don't mind as long as it isn't boasted as a main feature or required for most games, but I'm just not at all interested in using it so having it as something major just doesn't do it for me.
