^ It seems quite a few video game analysts seem to think so. I'll have to find the sources again to back it up, but they must be getting it from somewhere. Still, I very much agree with you, the Wii opened up experiences to so many casual players and people who don't generally play video games. Certainly some of those same people will end up buying a Switch due to games like 1-2 Switch, but for the most part I really don't think it's gonna explode in the same way the Wii did with that type of customer. EVERYONE wanted a Wii, whether they were a gamer or not.

I was actually surprised at how well 1-2-Switch sold. Wonder which geographical demographic it sold best in (I would suspect the young-middle aged population demographic who bought a Switch for weekend get together parties would have bought it; not as convinced for younger kid parties tbh)

If anything Switch would probably pull over Vita/PSP's demographic if the possible trend of mainly Japanese devs moving from Vita to Switch eventuates, which combined with a Nintendo core and I guess the non-factional gamers who like the value prospect of Switch results in what I think will be solid (not super impressive though) sustained interest over the console's lifetime

Nintendo of Europe will release a new Splatoon 2 Switch bundle on July 21st.

This is a smart move to finally include a game and I'm sure it will be sold in Japan if they also get a bundle.

I NEED IT TO COME TO NA RIGHT NOW. I want a Switch so badly once this game releases so hopefully the bundle will be pretty affordable.

^ Hm that is true, and it seems like they're planning a pretty big launch for it. Maybe they'll release one later on? Although I can't see why they would do that.

Nintendo has confirmed that their Nintendo Switch online service has been delayed until 2018. This means the free trial for their online service will continue until its official release in 2018, but the actual app allowing for voice chat and other online features will be available for free this summer. Here is the pricing model:

Nintendo Switch - Page 7 Paid
The service will include the following features:

    Online lobby and voice chat

Our new dedicated smart device app will connect to Nintendo Switch and let you invite friends to play online, set play appointments, and chat with friends during online matches in compatible games─all from your smart device.

A free, limited version of this app will be available for download in summer 2017.

    Classic Game Selection*

Subscribers will get to download a compilation of classic titles with added online play, such as Super Mario Bros. 3, Balloon Fight and Dr. Mario.

    Nintendo eShop deals

Special offers for subscribers may include discounts on select digital games and content.

Okay well this has completely changed my thoughts on the online service. I was expecting it to be much more expensive (Xbox and Playstation online is wayyy pricier) and I thought the whole classic games thing would be less appealing. I will say knowing how Nintendo has been in the past the "deals" won't be too great but everything else seems like pretty good news to me.

I thought that the price was already shown before, probably just a rumor. Still, only 20 a year, hope the quality stays good. And is this saying the voice via smart device is optional? I'll probably just use skype or discord if that's the case.

Much like Playstation Plus Nintendo will let you keep the monthly games if you have there online program.

I doubt many will use the app and sadly it seems like VC is starting at 0 again.

That find your controller feature sounds incredibly useful. It's definitely something I would've liked back on Wii, I used to lose Wii remotes much more often that you would normally lose a controller.

In a bit of sad news a 6 year old boy has has Switch stolen during a hospital stay.

Go Nintendo wrote:Some people...it's just hard to see any good in them. Case in point, a man who stole the Switch of a 6-year-old boy who was staying in the hospital for corrective surgery. Even worse, the boy's mother had her wallet stolen as well, which had $250 in cash, as well as debit and credit cards. The man is yet to be found, but the hunt is definitely on.

    Source

Just fudge the person who stole this Switch and to make things worse he also had to take money from the mother. I hope the thief is taken care of and that Nintendo someone hears about this and sends the kid a new Switch.

Looks like Nintendo granted your wish. Too bad it's only exclusive to Wal-Mart:  sauce

The only things I don't like about this bundle are: the price point ($380) & the fact that you don't get a physical copy of the game; just a 'download' code for it.Nintendo Switch - Page 7 E678751

^ Yeah. The extra $20 is coming from the carrying case, which I really think should have been either a free add on to the bundle instead of adding extra money that nobody wants to pay for, or just not have included it to begin with. That's too much to pay for a Switch bundle with one downloadable game.
