    Yo-Kai Watch Empty Yo-Kai Watch

Post by Winters Thief Zero Tue Aug 19, 2014 3:19 pm

I can finally post a real thread about Yo-Kai Watch, as it's coming outside of Japan for release on 3DS next year!

Level 5 wrote:In regards too foreign markets, we have been taking a look at it in regards to Yokai Watch. We are in development planning to release it sometime next year. We think it has a big appeal as a very Japanese-ish fantasy story. We already have support from a foreign toy maker company saying that it will be a definite success.

This kind of excites me, I've been wanting to try out the game ever since it became incredibly popular in Japan. And it also adds another 3DS title releasing next year, since the only others are Codename S.T.E.A.M. and Fantasy Life...

It's cool that one of the games are coming out here next year but, I will have to see more of it before I pick it up.

Yo-Kai Watch is available now in NA/Europe! Did anybody get it or plan to soon? (based on critics' reviews it's pretty decent, most reviews are postive with a few that didn't like it quite as much as the others)

I want to try it out when I find my 3DS. (or at this point when I end up buying a new one) As of now I have no plans to buy it because I still can't find my 3DS and don't really have the money anyway.

My sister wants it, so I expect she'll get it sometime next month.
The demo was actually quite fun.

^Same. I thought there was too much that I had to do in order to interact with what was going on at the bottom of the screen to be able to enjoy it fully. At least with Pokemon you can tell them to do a move & then enjoy watching the battle. In YKW, it's not at all the same impo.

I will get the game when there's a buy one get one half off sale. I did not enjoy how much you had to use the rader to find things in the demo.

I guess I can kind of see the point of those ads now but they're kind of weird and not all that funny. But it's cool to see more of the NoA staff doing things like that.

So did anyone even end up getting Yo-Kai Watch? I know it obviously hasn't been as big here as in Japan, but just curious to see if anyone has it. I didn't get it because I still don't have my 3DS (still looking for it...) but it's probably in my list of 3DS games to buy eventually.

I'm going to wait until the game goes down a bit. I really like how Nintendo and Level 5 are pushing the series with all the toys and the TV show even if it did not catch on outside of Japan.

^Gameguy, the toys and all that are not affiliated with Nintendo at all.
    That's 100% Level-5 and their partners.

I have the game, it's quite good.

^ Oh yeah I forgot about that, you mentioned getting it a month or two ago. I'm glad to hear you enjoyed it. :3 Is it much like Pokemon? I've heard a lot of comparisons but I've seen footage and it really looks nothing like Pokemon. I mean, the whole collecting creatures to use for battle is the same, but overall the gameplay isn't like Pokemon from what I can tell.

Na, I didn't get Yo-Kai Watch because I honestly didn't enjoy the demo of the game. Also, the game demo plays nothing like Pokemon, there's no way to revive your Yo-kai when they die & need a few turns to come back from being KOed. I also don't like that items can't be used with them either, like if their health gets low or what ever.

Impo, it played more like Ni No Kuni with the monster raising, except you have three monsters your raising at a time out instead of one.
