Reggie Fils-Aimé's letter to fans

And here's is my response to ^that: Dear Nintendo;

I'd like to take a moment to tell you that I feel (personally) that you're a bad company for abandoning the Wii U when you said in a past Direct that no such thing would happen. You said that the Wii U would have your support even during the launch of the Switch. But now that the Switch is out, I've since come to find out that Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is the LAST Wii U game to ever come out for the Wii U console. So because your not standing by your words or your commitment I decided not to get a Switch. Yes, I've decided NOT to reward your bad behavior (Nintendo) & have opted out on getting a Switch in 2017. I think that you need to take a time out & think about the things that you've done & maybe if your good in 2018 I'll think about rewarding you by purchasing this product in the future. Until then, I'm sorry but I just can't reward this kind of bad behavior.

I totally get that. I kind of assumed it would happen regardless but they did say they would continue supporting Wii U and are not at all. The way I see it, I feel like it made complete sense to stop development on Wii U to move to Switch, but the fact that they passed it off as the Switch being a third pillar to Wii U and 3DS and then just totally dropped the ball on Wii U shows that they didn't really care for Wii U owners.

I'll still be getting a Switch myself at some point in the future though.

That's right. I forgot the Wii U was going to be a third pillar. I'm honestly disappointed they dropped that. It could've been something. I think the Wii U performed below expectations and caused a change of plans. I think they cared less about the Wii U, compared to the 3DS updates and features. I personally I think the Switch is addressing one issue I had with the Wii U, the Gamepad not being portable. I think the Gamepad had a lot of potential with making it a portable console. A missed opportunity that the Switch has picked up in my opinion. Still enjoyed all the games I played on it though.

My only problem here is that this isn't the first instance that Nintendo has lied to me as a consumer & I'm not putting up with it anymore. They've lied about far more then the Wii U having their support, the Wii U is just the underbelly of the problems I have with Nintendo. I mean I understand that most companies tend to lie to their fan base, but Nintendo has been doing it way more often then I personally like & to even pull back from a PROMISE they made to ME, it feels more then a bit personal. Thus why I'm not getting a Switch until 2018 or so.
