Sony wrote:The life of consoles is also extended by services online, which continue to make a new offer cloud and new social functions. It is therefore too early to talk about the end of this generation of consoles.

That's a kinda stupid plan imo, that's not the absolute only thing that's part of gaming. Pluw, the Wii U is already coming out soon from Nintendo, probably making Sony lose some money. Razz

It is NOT too early to talk about the next generation of gaming consoles!
It is only their opinion that it is "too early" to talk about future generations of gaming consoles~
It is NOT a proven fact that it is too early to talk about the future generations of gaming consoles so THEREFORE, Sony is stupid.

Sony will start working on the PS4 as soon as the Wii U comes out because everyone know's they are going add a gamepad like the Wii U.

I can't see the WiiU as really a catalyst for the other two to make a new gen console. If anything, the WiiU is like a 7.5 since it only just caught up wrt online capabilities. And graphics I guess.

Really depends on the consumer market - Nintendo are trying to claw some more hardcore niches, but idk if they'll be successful necessarily...

Either way, I don't think there's a need to talk about a 'new' generation at this stage. Unless we're having heightened VR or fully immersive gaming or something. >.>

Considering that there a ton of gamers today that just like to sit down and shoot things, don't get me wrong, it's fine every now and then, but it seems that the Wii itself wasn't much competition to Microsoft and Sony to many people. So the people that tend to avoid Nintendo games in general would avoid this as well, branching into the new generation doesn't seem like it's too early. Six years from Wii to the WiiU, 5 years from Gamecube to Wii, and 5 years from 64-Gamecube. It seems Nintendo is on par with their constant updating of consoles.

I know it's sony, I was saying that nintendo is going into the gen early-ish, and Sony doesn't really need to due to the people that prefer them would still play the PS3 without need of having to get a new console, I probably did ramble a bit on that other post though.

I agree with sony, but if there is any competitiveness with the Wii U, maybe they should start thinking about the next consoles.
