Oh yeah, I never thought about that. You're right. XD I guess I just wanted a name that didn't include Xenoblade, but Nintendo knows it's a successful brand name, so it only makes sense.

Here's a new trailer.

The game keeps looking better though I think the game might be pushed into 2016 at this point.

It's releasing April 29th in Japan, no way is this getting pushed back to 2016. Razz I'd say June or maybe a bit later in the summer if it gets delayed any further than that.

Graphically it keeps looking better and better. Although I wish they showed more actual gameplay rather than just the cutscenes and exploring the world. (although, I guess that was the major focus for this trailer)

Yea, I do agree with you there. I felt like I was watching a trailer for area's of that world of which I could traverse instead of a trailer for a new video game. xp

I've decided to not care what's shown to me & just get the game anyway when it releases. Worse case scenario is that the game really does turn out to play like a Star Trek TNG Starfleet Academy like title. xp It's better then having nothing to look forward to otherwise.

Here are 2 more characters.

Van Damme (Tessho Genda)
The commanding officer of the B.L.A.D.E. mercenary group.
Previously, he worked as the Chief Engineer on the emergency emigration ship 'The White Whale'.
He's broadminded, arrogant towards everyone, and has a sharp tongue, but these are his ownly flaws.

Irina (Nao Takamori)
Belongs to the mercenary group 'B.L.A.D.E.'. Back on Earth, she was in the General Government's Special Vehicle Operations Corps (known as the 'Doll Corps'), where she served under Elma.
Now in B.L.A.D.E., she still adores and respects Elma. She has a strong-minded and frank personality, but is committed to her duty of protecting the people living on Mira.

Those characters seem to be based off of characters from the first Xenoblade. They do seem like cool characters though.

Damn, Van Damme looks scary. XD I like how they're introducing the new characters for the game. Although I don't think we'll really know much about them until the game actually releases.

I personally think it's funny that Jean-Claude finally made it into a video game. :p

@Queen
XD I never thought about it that way.

@Yusei
Well, considering the game still has a vague 2015 release for the west (despite releasing April 29th in Japan) there will probably be quite a bit before it releases. Razz

Some news from a Famitsu magazine:

The latest issue of Famitsu has tons of new info on Xenoblade Chronicles X, with 10 pages dedicated to describing the RPG’s huge open world and what players can expect when it comes to customization options for their player character. Perhaps the most interesting piece of information is that the game will feature “unions” that function similarly to guilds in MMOs and other RPGs, with the unions serving as quest hubs for characters.

Also detailed in the spread was a new system called Soul Voice, which replaces the need for a traditional healer in the character’s party. This means you can spend less time worrying about the health of your characters and more time buried in the combat. Aside from new systems, other details released include the fact that the map in Xenoblade Chronicles X is five times the size of the map from the original game, Xenoblade Chronicles. Here’s the quick summary as translated by members ofNeoGAF:

Unions

Pathfinder – In charge of data probe installation.

Interceptor – In charge of exterminating protists.

Avalanche – In charge of hunting down dangerous life forms.

Testament – In charge of the search and recovery of debris scattered by the ship, as well as the recovery of items lost on the battlefield.

Corepedian – In charge of visiting areas and investigation/collecting materials.

Land Bank – In charge of securing resources and collecting minerals.

Arms – Assists the Arms Company in charge of the development of Dolls and their inner weaponry.

Companion – A Jack of all trades, from the mediation of petty fights to the search of stray cats.

Characters

Nagi (Takayuki Sugou)- Former Captain of the White Whale and current Military Chief in the Autonomous Government of New Los Angeles.

Guin (Yuichi Nakamura) – Worked in the same division as Elma and Irina on Earth. Was their subordinate.

Player Avatars

Many options for customization (sex, face type, skin colour, hair style, eyes, make-up, voice, etc).

Preset designs done by Kunihiko Tanaka

Some famous voices actors providing their voice as options for the avatar, will be announced on the Xenoblade homepage later.

GamePad

Will show character location, question locations

Warping to previously visited areas

Online

The use of ‘X [Cross]’ has implications for the online functionality.
Not a standard online game, more ‘loosely connected’

Music

About 90 songs in the game. Sawano involved in all of them.

Battles

Faster paced, more-actiony than Xenobalde.

Differentiates close and distanto attacks.

No healers.

Healing done with new system called ‘Soul Voice’.

I'm getting more and more excited for this game.

I'm psyched to see an Avalanche union. Cause *points to self* I'm a huge FFVII fan & of course I'm going to have to join that union first. xp Still seems pointless to have so many unions; otherwise you'd be busy doing nothing but union work.. I hope if you just choose one & stick with it; it wont affect how the game is played.. But my guess is that it will though. =/

The unions should be interesting. I'm a bit disappointed to hear the online isn't really full-on multiplayer, but at least it means the single player campaign will likely be really good. (of course that was expected anyway though)

The game will track your playtime this time around.

Coming from Xenoblade Chronicles X director Koh Kojima...

“As always, thank you to the users for their support. I’m Xenoblade Chronicles X’s director, Kojima. The embargo on a lot of information pertaining to the game has been lifted, so I will be talking about it here.

First of all, as a greeting, I’ll talk about the game’s playtime display. There was talk about how, now matter how long you played, Xenoblade Chronicles would be completed in 99 hours and 59 minutes. And so, we’ve changed that this time around. In the Famitsu interview a few days ago, Takahashi mentioned the time of ‘300 hours’ and of course the playtime will be properly displayed [this time around]. Of course, we’ve made it so there will be no problems even if you play beyond that amount of time.”

If the games takes around 300 hours to beat I'm sure there's a ton of things to do. I'm sure about 100 hours is side stuff though since that's all they have been showing for the most part.
