The Year of Luigi

Perhaps there will be, but if it's something like the year of Samus and the year of Link, well...they're already main characters in their respective game franchises, so it would kinda be normal.

Well with the Year of Samus it would be special seeing as Other M was supposedly supposed to be the last Metroid game made. O_O

As for the year of Luigi? I myself would like to see a YuGiOh based game where in it Luigi is the main character and you have to win against all of the bad guys in Mario with YuGiOh bad guy's hair it would be great!

Was that a rumor or something? I never heard that Other M was supposed to be the last Metroid game.

Also I kinda doubt there would be a Yu-Gi-Oh game with Luigi, or even any Mario character in it. I guess anything's possible though...it would be cool to see him in another Nintendo game though, that would probably be a lot easier to do.

I don't see a year of Samus or Link.

Because most of the so called Luigi games are Mario games.

A year of DK, Yoshi, Wario and Peach could work though. Because Nintendo can just put them in the Mario spin off games like Luigi and give them a new game that year.

^ Well really it's only been this one time, but Nintendo says that 2013 is the Year of Luigi. What they seem to be doing is just making a lot of Luigi games and games with "Luigi features" in them, like how Mario Golf World Tour has a mode to play only with Luigi.

Luigi is such a useless character in my mind.

Maybe it should just be Year of Mario like it always is. We all know Nintendo isn't trying their hardest with this "Year of Luigi" going on... It could be much more implemented if they ACTUALLY tried. Quite honestly, when I first heard of this I was rather...ecstatic? That the right word? Nonetheless, so far I am somewhat disappointed.

I agree he's overrated (don't get me wrong though, Yoshi is my favorite Mario character :3) Also...you're right Sakura. From what it seems, there's still more Mario games anyway. They release LOTS of Mario games every year, so I don't see why that would change. That's why I think it's weird that they would make a year specifically for a Mario character, when there are already Mario games with the character (Luigi) in them.

2014 can be the year of Yoshi.

Because that's when his new games are likely coming out.

Oh now that I think about it...Nintendo is probably planning that, considering they have those two Yoshi games. (Yarn Yoshi and Yoshi's Island DS) I'm actually kinda hoping they don't do it, because the Year of Luigi already seems to be a bit...uh, bad.

One thing I can agree too is yes Yoshi is too overrated (well a bit)...
That Luigi 3DS XL for Japan make Nintendo look a bit carried away...
