It's basically Nights into Dreams KH style is what I think of when I see this. Idk it looks cool; but I'm kind of torn if I'd want to play this should it come state side.. I kind of like how the game play looks.. But the graphics kind of remind me a LOT of the 3d character models from the Gamecube Pokemon games impo. O-o; Idk; what do you guys (& gals lol) think?

Re: Rodea the Sky Soldier
It looks decent, but I'll have to see more and have a confirmation of it being localized before I decide on whether I want it or not. It's an interesting game though. Wasn't this in development awhile ago? It must've been delayed a lot or something...

Re: Rodea the Sky Soldier
After googling this game; it seems to be coming back from the dead.
At a recent Kadokawa Games press event, we now know what happened to Prope’s Rodea game on Wii. Now called “Rodea The Sky Soldier” it will be released next year on both Wii U and 3DS.
It’s being called a “sky adventure” and to anyone familiar with Yuji Naka’s games, especially that of Sonic and Nights, then Rodea will look awfully familiar (as you can see in the trailer). The giant enemies also look very reminiscent of Shadow of the Colossus.
This announcement is an interesting one though, as it seems that this new version was handled by Kadokawa Games internally. Whereas Prope’s original Wii version will be made available to players who buy the new game at launch, effectively getting two games for the price of one.
What’s more, Prope already finished the original Wii version back in 2011 but the game was never released.
That’s a very strange setup indeed and indicates that Kadokawa had their own take on another company’s original concept and wanted to make their stamp on it. As Prope is headed up by quite experienced developers, it’s clear they held their ground and managed to keep the game as it was (though at the cost of it not getting released, until now at least). sauce

Re: Rodea the Sky Soldier
It's now been confirmed for a western release! It's coming to Wii U and 3DS...and, this is very strange...it's also coming to Wii. Source
I'm glad it's coming to the west, not sure I'll be getting it though.

Re: Rodea the Sky Soldier
Story details:
The game is getting a retail release as well! I'll get the retail copy if I ever decide to get the game. (although as I said I'm not sure I will)
1,000 years ago, Emperor Geardo of the Naga Empire sent an army of machine soldiers to invade the sky kingdom of Garuda. Thanks to the efforts of Princess Cecilia and Rodea, a machine soldier who promised to protect Garuda, Emperor Geardo’s assault was thwarted.
In present day, a spirited inventor named Ion discovers an abandoned robot that has fallen into disrepair in the heart of a scorching desert. Upon completing her repairs, the robot stirs to life and reveals itself to be none other than Rodea. Stunned to find himself in the future, Rodea learns that the Naga Empire is no more and that Garuda has known peace for 1,000 years.
But this peace was not meant to last, for the forces of Naga have returned to wage war against Garuda. Remembering the promise he made 1,000 years ago, Rodea takes to the skies to defend Garuda from the Naga Empire once again.

Re: Rodea the Sky Soldier
Huh, the story is kind of interesting. Kind of makes me wonder why Rodea was just found turned off the way he was 1,000 years later. Any who; I looked at the official web site for this game & it said that this game is going to be releasing the fall of this year. So my guess would be it'll probably get a release date closer to November.

Cool! Sort of like how Bayonetta 2 came with a copy of the first game for the Wii U. Nice.

Re: Rodea the Sky Soldier
That's nice, although, there's really no point to it if you're just buying the game on Wii U anyway. I suppose you could give it to someone else as a gift though.

Re: Rodea the Sky Soldier
Rodea the Sky Soldier has been confirmed for a September 22nd release in NA, and a September 25th release in Europe!
I think that's a good release date, although I have to say I expected it to be released a bit sooner.
