An Animal Crossing spinoff has been reveled. You can only play using an amiibo from the look of things.

I think people are getting to mad about this since it looks like Nd Cube is behind the game and you will likely be able to download the game for free.

I was so excited to see Animal Crossing Wii U, then it turned out to be a party game. Face Palm! Ugh why Nintendo. Nobody wants this, you do realize that right?...

-need to use amiibo (it seems that this will be the case since mp10's amiibo party worked like this)
    -very limited roster
-very bad controls (use gamepad for dice, wii remote for making moves, constantly lifting amiibos.... it gets old quickly)
    -full of luckbased events

    Uhh......

it's up for pre-order at EB Games and it comes with
    -the game (duh)
-2 amiibo, one of Isabelle and one of someone else
    -3 amiibo cards

there doesn't appear to be a standard edition (yet) so I presume every copy will come with amiibo. I guess this is pretty nice but I still have zero interest in this game (it looking like Fortune Street rather then Mario Party doesn't help either)

^ It's great that it comes with Amiibo but...uh...the game doesn't look like it's worth that much. I know I would never pay that much for it, even if it does come with Amiibo. (that's about US$70)

So apparently the main Animal Crossing team is working on this game, so it seems very unlikely we'll be getting an actual new game. (unless they're making this alongside it as a side game...I guess they're a pretty decently sized team, but they also just finished Splatoon...)

Ugh I really wanted a new Animal Crossing game on Wii U. Crying or Very sad

Well they clearly have a lot of the models ready for use if a new Animal Crossing is going to poke its head around the corner.

^ True. I certainly hope that's the case, who knows, maybe this game started as an engine test for the full Animal Crossing Wii U game and became a full game on it's own. (Nintendo's been doing that...)

Also, turns out the game is a free download game on the eShop, and simply requires an Amiibo to activate. (so basically, $13 price...probably more though because the Amiibo are used to roll dice and stuff)

Depending on how they release this, I'll get it.
The game looks a lot like the good old Mario Party.
I'd get Tom Nook and K.K. Slider, my sister wants Isabelle and Mabel.
At first I thought, what is this?
But it actually looks better than Mario Party 10.

The only Animal Crossing amiibo I'd want would be Isabelle myself. Only other character I'd want would be is if there were folk who usually end up living in your town released; like an O'Hare amiibo, Frigga, & etc.

It's pretty much just amiibo Party mixed Animal Crossing events. As for the price Josh reported that it's a free download while Best Buy has listed the game for $60.
