Nintendo Plans to Release First Movie Within 2-3 Years

In an interview the other day with Nintendo president Kimishima, he mentioned that Nintendo is moving into working on film and animation with their IP. He said that he'd like their first film to be released within the next 2-3 years! He also mentioned that Miyamoto will be involved in these projects.

It's nothing completely concrete yet but it's awesome to hear this is part of the plan for Nintendo! I can't wait to see what they do. I'm still waiting on that Metroid movie.

It sounded more like 5 years in the main interview and it was just mistranslated. Anyway I think the Mario movie leak was true and I believe there now working out things for a Zelda movie. Maybe we can also seem a short right before every movie?

^ I don't know, numbers are kind of difficult to mistranslate but I suppose that could've been the case. Either way it's at least somewhat soon.

Too bad Bob Hopkins isn't with us anymore to reprise the role of Mario cause impo, I thought he did a great job. Personally, I think it'd be interesting to see Mario Batalli in the roll cause you know he's already Italian & claims to be the real Mario anyway.

Personally I'd like to see Orlando Bloom take on the role of Link myself.

^ OMG YES, I can totally picture that happening. Appearance wise he looks EXACTLY like Link. That would just make so much sense.
