    The Museum Empty The Museum

Post by queenzelda Tue Aug 28, 2018 11:39 pm

My question is: what point is there to finishing out the museum besides bragging rights? I mean I just finished getting every bug, painting, sculpture, fish & under sea creature into this thing.. And when I FINISH getting everything into the museum, Blathers doesn't react: give me a plaque saying that my museum is complete. All I get: is just a paintball wallpaper in the upper part of the museum that I'd have to pay for my self. So nothing essentially..

So.. What the hell is even the point?? Besides bragging rights, but then who do I even brag to? Since most people stopped playing probably somewhere in 2015 or so.

I feel aside from bragging rights there is a sense of satisfaction from completion. All the Animal Crossing games for me were a bit too much to keep up with to really want to complete everything. I believe the play everyday clock based features are definitely a reason. I used to enjoy 100% completion more than I do now, fewer games I enjoy going the extra mile.

At least the GCN game rewarded the golden tools plus some nice little decorations on your house, I never looked into what New Leaf rewarded but that's it? Sounds lame.

Would be nice if you got a ton of bells for completing it or an option to add more to the museum. Other then that it's just bragging rights sadly.

I agree with @TheFrozenFairy on it being just something for completionists to enjoy, but I also don't understand why you wouldn't get anything else for completing it. Like, it feels REALLY weird for Blathers to not even react AT ALL when it's complete. You'd think that would be the one time he has a major reaction and would then give you some kind of gift.

I think that'd help greatly with maxing the bank for those other really hard to get rewards. Though I wonder why they'd give out bells, it'd be nice.

Yeah I agree Blathers not reacting at all is very strange. I can't recall but didn't he have some sort of wish the Museum to be complete in the previous games? New Leaf may be an exception I guess, continuity in Animal Crossing is really strange yet story is probably the last thing you probably play Animal Crossing for so it's not a big deal.

Well.. In New Leaf you get the gold net from Nat when you talk to him after showing him your complete bug catalog. Same with Chip when you show him you caught of the fish, except you get a golden rod.

All you get from Blathers is his saying something about completing your art/sculptures exhibit & that's about it. -_-

Ah they're pretty similar to completing the museum, the catalog is like your own in a way, though donating is an extra step certainly. I kind of like the sound of receiving those from Nat and Chip more.

Blathers not even mentioning the other exhibits is strange, it is like he doesn't even care about the others.
