Tomodachi Life was just revealed to be coming to the west for the 3DS. Here's the Nintendo Direct showing off the game:

I'm not really interested in this, at least not at the moment. It looks like an okay game, just not something that really appeals to me all that much.

This seems like some sort of Nintendo spin on Sims, looks like something I won't be getting either though.

OMG. XD It's like if the creators of SIMs got a chance to create their own SIMs version of a game on a handheld Nintendo console; just that they were made to use the Mii characters instead of the usual SIMs models. This looks cute, but atmo I'm not too sure if it's something I'd like. I like cute simulation games, & all.. But (atmo) this game just seems too weird for my tastes. XD

My mind might change; as I think that the game is still a cute idea. :3

It's coming to North America and Europe on June 6th.

PR email wrote:New Tomodachi Life Direct broadcast lifts the lid on uniquely quirky game coming to Nintendo 3DS on 6th June

10th April 2014 - Take all your preconceived notions about life's possibilities, crumple them into a ball and toss them out the window. It's time to enjoy a whole new life. On 6th June, visit the outrageously bizarre island world of Tomodachi Life for the Nintendo 3DS family of consoles.

Build a bustling fantasy population of friends, family and your favourite personalities from TV, movies and sports, as Mii characters come to life with their own voice and personality, all on one wild and hilarious island where there is something new to discover every time you check in. The real emotional connection you already share with your characters will keep you glued to the drama, intrigue and hilarity that ensues as everyone goes about their extraordinary daily lives, evolving and interacting in unpredictable and often uproarious ways.

The Tomodachi franchise has already taken Japan by storm, selling more than 5.5 million games*. Its first European title, Tomodachi Life, is poised to stake out unprecedented videogame territory when it launches 6th June. Nintendo announced more details today in a special Tomodachi Life-themed Nintendo Direct. To view the Nintendo Direct in its entirety, visit: http://www.nintendo.co.uk/nintendodirect.

"Tomodachi" is the Japanese word for "friend." After completely customising all your Mii characters (or simply scanning them into the game via QR Code), you'll recognise them instantly - from their unique vocal traits and appearances right down to their personality quirks. But you can't possibly predict what they'll do next. For the first time ever, Mii characters behave based on the personality traits you select, playing out the drama you set in motion. A pop star might fall in love with your lookalike. Your mum might jump on stage to belt out heavy metal songs. Or you could become famous striking poses down the runway of a fashion show wearing cute and silly outfits. Best of all, you can document these unbelievable moments for posterity and share them all with your friends via the Nintendo 3DS Image Share service.

The plot of Tomodachi Life thickens with the addition of each character. As they deliver one gripping twist and turn after another, you can reward them with gifts and clothes, their favourite foods or special flourishes for their apartments. Together you can further broaden your Tomodachi Life horizons by expanding a wide variety of facilities on the island, solving characters' problems and helping them with their needs.

Additional information about Tomodachi Life will be revealed in the future. For the latest updates, visit http://nintendo.co.uk/tomodachi. The game will play on Nintendo 3DS and Nintendo 2DS systems, and will be available on the Nintendo UK Store, in stores and on Nintendo eShop. Prices will vary between retailers.

*Combined sales of Nintendo DS version (3.76m) and Nintendo 3DS version (1.82m) by end of 2013 in Japan.

I won't be getting the game. However the Direct was kind of cool since it had Nintendo workers Miis.

^ Wow, that seems pretty soon for only having been confirmed for a western release today. But maybe they're going for a similar Animal Crossing: New Leaf situation though. Razz I think ACNL is probably a better game than this, but of course I can't be sure without having played the game.

    @Queen
Yeah, except that actual The Sims games have already been made for Nintendo handhelds before. XD

Yea I know that, but this version is probably going to be better since you can do more then the SIMs games already available for the 3DS (according to a friend of mine who's played them). Razz

I might get this used just to mess around with creating all of my off/online friends, my favorite actors, actresses, video game characters, & what not. xp

If I can find it for a cheap price I'll definitely get it as well. But apparently it's still going to be $40 at launch new. Seriously, if Animal Crossing: New Leaf could be only $35, this shouldn't be full 3DS game price. It looks like a much simpler and less interactive version of the Animal Crossing series. But that's just how it seems to me at any rate.

It likely won't go down in price for about 3 years. Also there's likely more to do in the game then what we saw in the Direct.

I'm not planning to. Especially if I can find a used copy after a few years or so for a really cheap price at retail. But that's a fairly small file size, at least in comparison to some of the other games like Pokemon X/Y.

If you have platinum status on Club Nintendo, you may have been chosen to get free access to a Tomodachi Life demo. Only some platinum members get the demo though.

I didn't get it, after checking my email for it yesterday. But I would like to try it at some point...I'm guessing it'll be available on the eShop at some point.

Called it, it only makes sense that the demo would be coming to everyone at some point. I'm sure I'll try it since I'm still unsure about whether I really want that game or not.
