What's the hardest game you ever played?

For me, it's Earthbound Zero/Mother 1. The game was extremely hard at first, and while the difficulty got normal in the middle, it got extremely hard again at the end.

But thanks to the easy patch later on, I could clear the game.

Also, Final Fantasy III's final dungeon was really notorious in my opinion.

Hardest game I've ever played...hm, that's difficult to choose on it's own. xD I suppose the original Legend of Zelda was pretty hard, especially when given pretty much no clues on what to do at all. The Fire Emblem series is really hard for me, without trying to lose any units. I'd also say Xenoblade Chronicles is difficult...it's kind of hard to choose just one really. I don't think I've ever played a near impossible game. Maybe Contra?

Tried those as a kid, and after playing one of the earlier games as of recently - man, those games were intense! o.o

Hardest title I ever played was Legend of Zelda for the NES. If you don't know where to go in order to defeat all of the dungeons in the game: it takes (almost) forever to get through. @_@;

Zelda II for me, I haven't even beaten the second temple.

Honorable mention to Fire Emblem: Binding Blade, it's difficult even on normal (for me), especially if you're trying to get the best ending (which I haven't succeeded in getting yet).
