Animes and Movies in the coming years

Nintendo president Kimishima has reveled that the character licensing for Nintendo themed animes and movies is in the works.

3) Kimishima claims the expansion to smartphones and theme parks, but also to movies and TV animes (via character licensing) is progressing.

The question is what they could be? For the movies I think there will be some based on Mario, Zelda, StarFox, Metroid and Kirby before they join forces in a Smash Bros movies. As for the animes I expect Mario, Zelda and maybe a more hardcore show like Metroid, Fire Emblem or Xenoblade.

I'm just hoping to see a whole entire movie based off of Nintendo.

I want so badly to see a Fire Emblem or Kid Icarus anime. (or at least a full one, I know Kid Icarus had those mini anime shorts when Uprising released) I really hope that happens, a Mario anime would not work.

I do also think a Splatoon anime could be really cool depending on what direction they take with it.

As for movies, I personally wouldn't want to see any Nintendo movies. A Zelda live action TV show could be cool, as was rumored to be in production with Netflix last year, but it doesn't look like that's happening. Metroid could also work well as a live action TV series.

So.. Basically Nintendo is doing what Sony's already doing with Rachet & Clank (since there's a movie for it in the making) huh? How interesting.

Anime? No, bring us traditional cartoons like they used to do in the 90s.
I want to see the New Super Mario Bros. Super Show.

^ Well Nintendo is a Japanese company, you can't really be surprised they'd be using their style of animation rather than western animation.

Consdiering those shorts that they made a while ago for like Pikmin and Kid Icarus I'm surprised they're just now doing something like this, but I'd really like to see a TV series or movie done for plenty of the games.

^Not the Zelda ones, those were strange, the Mario ones.
All 3 were really funny, I loved those shows.

^Though really in the end it's just an animation style for both ways, I just hope that if this does happen the writing's well.

You know there was that Mario anime that was only in Japan. You seem to be forgetting about that. Although I'd rather see a series represented that's more suited to anime if that's what they're doing, and Mario isn't really a good fit. (but I wouldn't mind it if it were actually good)

I honestly like that line from the cartoon. The way they wrote Link was so unlike him though. I like some things about the cartoon but other things were rather poor.

I'd like to see a new Super Mario and The Legend of Zelda cartoon. Having an anime artstyle would be interesting but maybe a more cartoony one would fit a Mario one if they're going from something similar to the Super Show. Maybe something like Super Mario Kun?

Japanese people have created numerous Mario flipnotes, I'm sure Nintendo could figure out something.

I loved the Super Mario Bros Super Show. It was a great "movie" to watch, and I enjoyed the interesting concepts of it. Plus King Koopa's voice lol

^ I mean if we're talking about movies, let's hope Nintendo doesn't go the direction they have in the past with the Super Mario Bros. Movie. The western Mario cartoon wasn't bad though. It wasn't that great and some of the events were unusual for the Mario universe but it was well animated and decent.
