Pokemon Splatfest launching February 19th

This Splatfest will begin on February 19 at 10:00 PM PT and will run until February 20 at 10:00 PM PT.
This Splatfest will also happen simultaneously around the world. Like any other Splatfest, however, players you get matched with will be from your region, and the results will also be tallied by each region. 
By the way, did you know that in Japan the first Pokémon game was released in a “Red Version” and a “Green Version,” but in North America and Europe, the two versions were “Red Version” and “Blue Version.”  So for this Splatfest, in North America, it will be “Red vs Blue.”

I never thought the Pokemon Company would setup a Splatfest and I'm unsure how things will go with played being set by region.

I was playing Splatton around the time the Splatfest was announced. I was really surprised. I definitely didn't expect a Pokémon themed Splatfest. Now the Pokémon Company is really going all out for the anniversary.

I didn't pick a side, I can't really choose between them. I grew up playing Pokémon Red while I prefer Blastoise over Charizard. Venusaur is my favorite of the 3 starters so I would have picked Green if that was an option. It's a tough choice.

Pokémon Red will definitely be the more popular side because of Charizard.

I was not at all expecting a Pokemon Splatfest, huh.

Honestly they're pretty similar, so I don't really see a reason to choose the side that will inevitably be more popular, Pokemon Red. It seems the least popular team always wins after the change to x6, at least in NA, so I'm going with Blue most likely.

I love how much the Pokemon Company's doing, what a way to honor the anniversary. Going Blue because colors and the fact that in may be less popular.

On a side note, Japan's releasing Splatoon X Pokemon shirts to honor their Pokemon Red vs Pokemon Green Splatfest!

I grew up playing with blue and I even chose squirtle and that Pokemon means a lot to me, plus that game had better sprites, so it might be Blue taking the crown!!!

So the Splatfest is starting soon, seems like most of us are going with team Pokemon Blue so...let's all win! I'm actually pretty excited for this Splatfest despite not being the biggest Pokemon fan, maybe it's just the fact that it's the first worldwide Splatfest.

I decided to go with Pokémon Red. Despite being more likely to win the popularity contest and Charizard is my least favorite of the 3. Growing up playing Red is my biggest reason. I'm excited to participate in this. See you all on the battlefield.

Pokémon Red - 61% popularity, 36% win rate
Pokémon Green - 39% popularity - 64% win rate - WINNER

Europe

Pokémon Red - 64% popularity, 43% win rate
Pokémon Blue - 36% popularity, 57% win rate - WINNER

North America

Pokémon Red - 55% popularity, 41% win rate
Pokémon Blue - 45% popularity, 59% win rate - WINNER

I'm not surprised Pokemon Blue won for each region with less popularity, that seems to be the case for pretty much every Splatfest now and Red was inevitably going to be the most popular. BUT YAY BLUE!

Good thing I joined team Blue within the last few hours of the Splatfest before it ended.

Congratulations Blue and Green! Unfortunately I wasn't able to play after I got Champion rank and went to sleep so no highest rank for me. I would have liked the extra shells. The battles were intense and I had fun.
