This new game for Nintendo 3DS will work by scanning Tretta, which can then pick a Pokémon for you in the game. It will be releasing on August 10th in Japan, but has not been confirmed anywhere else just yet. Honestly I'm not exactly sure what this game is. >_> Just thought I'd post this topic now, since it was just announced.

Re: Pokémon Tretta Lab
Wait; so your scanning bar codes in order to get Pokemon? (Aka: Scanning Tretta?) Is that what your talking about Zero? Cause that's what it sounds like to me..

Yes, I think that's what it is. I'd think it would be better to use AR cards or QR codes though.

Re: Pokémon Tretta Lab
I hope this game stays in Japan. But if did come to the US I would not buy it.

So it is Japan-only then, well that's probably a good thing for now, I don't even think a lot of people in Japan would buy something like this, but I know I wouldn't. I'd rather focus on trying to get X or Y when they release.

Re: Pokémon Tretta Lab
I know I wouldn't purchase the Pokemon tretta game either since games like those that scan UPC's are a dime a dozen here in the states & they never seem to go over very well either.. XD

Re: Pokémon Tretta Lab
Jeez, the add-on for this game is HUGE:
Do they really need to make it that big? I feel as though the 3DS could just scan the 'tretta' without the need for that.

Wow, that's big, I thought it was one of those Nerf covers for a second, why does it need that big old block on its back.

Re: Pokémon Tretta Lab
I guess because you have to be able to fit the tretta inside of the scanner, and the tretta are fairly large I'm assuming? I thought it would just be a wireless scanner, or you'd just be able to scan them on your 3DS through the camera.

Re: Pokémon Tretta Lab
-Bumping to update this topic- (OMG XD)
New Trademarks Hint at Pokémon Tretta Localisation.
It looks like The Pokémon Company may consider bringing this franchise to the West, as fresh U.S. trademarks have been submitted for Pokétretta Battles and Pokétretta Tournament, which speak for themselves. Even if the arcades don't come to the West, it's not beyond the realms of possibility that the discs and bulky 3DS add-on (pictured) could journey outside of Japan.
Two other trademarks have also been dug up by Siliconera — Pokéfigure Arena and Pokéfigure. Perhaps these will be related to a game with more NFC toys, or like any trademarks could be placeholders in case prospective ideas come to fruition. These discoveries follow hot on the heals of Pokkén Fighters and Pokkén Tournament, which we'd love to be linked to a possible Wii U Pokémon fighting game though, of course, that's merely speculation.
If these trademarks do eventually lead to some extra games, would you be interested in the Tretta Lab concept coming to the West, or more NFC shenanigans? sauce

Re: Pokémon Tretta Lab
Pokéfigure might've been a possible name for the Pokémon Rumble series, I doubt that this would be titled Pokéfigure as they aren't actually figures.
If it does come to the west though, I won't be purchasing this, that's for sure.
