How often do you purchase games?

When there's the release of a game that I really want, I'll buy it on launch day if it's available, and maybe even preorder it at a store. (like I will do with Pikmin 3) If it's a game that's already been released, I'll wait to pick it up when I go out. (usually not specifically to buy the game)

Sometimes I don't even plan on getting the game though, I walk into the store and find something cheap and just buy it because of that.

But answering the question directly (should've done that at the beginning right? XD) every few months I'll buy a new game, sometimes more or less.

I mostly buy games on the day of release that I like.
I also look at things people say about some games like Animal Crossing and sometimes a demo can sell me on the game.

Like, hollidays, birthday, if I have a gift card.
Sometimes I just go out there with my own money but I don't normally do that.

The rare occasion that I have enough money for one and there's one out that I want to actually buy, so it comes down to usually around holidays and some random times in the Summer.

It depends on what game is releasing that I want. Like with Animal Crossing New Leaf I was able to purchase it at launch without having to pre-order it. Usually I purchase a game at launch unless it's something I think I can wait for then I'll wait to get the game at a later date for a cheaper price. Usually Mario platformers if given enough time release as a best of & can be purchased at a cheaper price; thus some times I wait to get the Mario titles for cheaper by going this route.

Other times it depends. If I find a game for $3 to $4 new or used if it looks interesting enough I'll pick it up and play it. Usually I purchase a game every other month or when one releases that I want.

Not very often nowadays, lemme tell you.

Back then I was a kid, so, I got ALL THE GAMES I WANTED(plus money wasn't an issue).

Not very often. It's usually around holidays and sometimes my birthday. Then occasionally, I get games on random days, usually Virtual Console games or a 3DS title.
