by Cross-buy is excellent. Buying the same game twice isn't necessary. Nintendo needs to offer that for their systems with the exception of Smash Bros because those games are different enough. I'm not sure if any games on eshop do offer that but I know Shovel Knight had a cross-buy sale of sorts before.

^ I'm pretty sure the cross-buy used to be an exclusive offer to European developers if they were making a game on Wii U and 3DS and wanted to have the feature. (on Nintendo consoles of course, others seem to already have a system >_>)

No. It's not like Bomberman or Adventure Island would really be big or successful on Nintendo consoles anyway, and Hudson really isn't that great of a company. It wouldn't have made sense to purchase them, it would be a waste.

Mario! Since there's so many options such as the 3D games, Kart, Paper Mario, Mario & Luigi and Mario Party.
The others I enjoy are Pokemon, Kirby, Donkey Kong, Pikmin, Fire Emblem, Zelda and Animal Crossing.

I really feel like Mario is separate from the Mario spin-off games. The Mario platformers are probably my favorite Nintendo series, but there's a LOT of great ones. (Obviously I love Fire Emblem, Animal Crossing, Metroid...) It would be difficult to choose one favorite honestly, but the Mario platformers did get me into gaming, and I do really enjoy them for the most part. (outside of a few recent releases

The Legend of Zelda of course. I first played The NES one, Zelda 2, Ocarina of Time, and Majora's Mask on the Collector's Disc, it was a gift and I think I first tried Majora's Mask on it. I've enjoyed every game I have played in the series and I always love to experience the adventures of Link.
Mario and most of the spinoffs come close. Pokemon and Animal Crossing are my favorites too. I also recently got into Fire Emblem.
