Tortimer Island is a stage based off of New Leaf. I like how the stage has a different layout each time and how the stage is not set in town for once. The one draw back is that someone can Smash attack you into the water and you can't recover since you can't swim in the 3DS version.

It's a pretty cool stage, and it's nice to have an Animal Crossing stage not based in a town like you said. I like how the island is randomized and that Kapp'n shows up on his boat sometimes. And yeah, it can be hard to recover on the stage sometimes, I kind of wish they kept swimming.
