Footage of the Wii U's internet browser functionality has been uploaded from the publisher's latest Japanese Nintendo Direct presentation, showing software that utilizes the GamePad's myriad inputs.
The functionality looks pretty slick, taking full advantage of the Wii U GamePad's touchscreen. One demonstration shows how the controller can be used for multitasking, allowing the user to load up a YouTube video on the TV screen while continuing to browse on the GamePad. Users will also be able to scroll through web pages simply by tilting the Wii U GamePad towards and away from themselves.
Though the browser will not be Flash-compatible — just like Nintendo's other web-capable systems — it will include HTML5 support. Also, if the player pauses a game to load up the browser, it can auto-populate search terms based on the title that's being played.
