Super Mario Bros. 2

Yep, it's time to talk about that game that so many Mario fans seem to look down upon. Super Mario Bros. 2 (aka Super Mario USA).

While people may not like the game due to its many differences from the general Super Mario game, I am not afraid to admit that this game is actually my favourite Super Mario game. Unique levels and worlds, four playable characters, catchy music, and unique bosses is what made me love this game. While the game may be different at first, it still is a beloved classic Mario game at heart to me.   I do wish Nintendo would remake or give this game a new sequel in the near future.

So what are your opinions of this game? Also feel free to talk about the remakes of this game from Super Mario All Stars and Super Mario Advance here as well.

Yeah, I'm one of those people who doesn't really enjoy it.

While it is true that the levels are more creative, and a lot different than the other Mario platformers, they just weren't as fun to play through in my opinion. The throwing plants thing was a bit repetitive and annoying sometimes, as well. But, like almost every Mario game, it's a great game. Just not as great as some of the others.

I love this game. I enjoyed the new changes added to it and I loved playing as Toadstool. They need to make another game of this.

Nintendo should make a game like this agian because playing as Peach is better then saving her.  But I would say that this game got boring with useing the the objects on the ground after a while.

Personally after getting this game I can say that I do like some aspects of this game while some others I don't like at all. I love how Mario turns gold with a golden fire flower; which I think is really cool. I also really like how your given the option to use a 'cheat' if you die to many times in the lvl just to get through it.... But at the same time I don't like the cheat cause then it makes it too easy to get through already.. I REALLY love coin rush it's totally a lot of fun. But I also hate how if you streetpass some one who bought a pack you don't have you can't see it or challenge them either; it's so frustrating. xp -> moved

I've played each of the area's with each character for the NES title & tbh my favorite out of all of the characters available HAS got to be Peach. Hovering over everything is AWESOME. xp

I think it's a great Mario game. Not the best one but it stands out from the rest for being very different. Having the Princess playable for the first time. I'm more familiar with the remake, it adds a bit more like the Yoshi eggs but this one is more challenging. Picking up and throwing enemies was fun and this game introduced Shy Guys as Mario enemies, I really like Shy Guys.

Well it's not like this thread was labeled SMB2 [NES] or anything to avoid further confusion. xp

But I'll edit my original post. And to avoid further confusion add this to the conversation: I actually love SMB2 it's a great game & I love playing all of the lvl's as Peach since personally I love her hover ability (as mentioned earlier in my edited post. xp).

I like Peach's hover ability, but I'd go with Luigi over all of them due to his high jump. I always wondered why Mario was the only one ever "famous for jumping" in some of the RPG games, when Luigi jumps higher in this and in 3D World.

Guys, I'm changing the name of this topic.
It released in all regions, and Japan was the only one that got Lost Levels.

It's alright; I blame Nintendo for not having original titles for their Mario game names. xp

It's cause Luigi is more famous for being a scaredy-cat rlly. XD
