Metroid Prime : Federation Force

Nintendo just showed a new IP called Blast Ball. Here's the details and trailer.

Go Nintendo wrote:Nintendo has shown off a new 3DS title at the Nintendo World Championships. The title is called Blastball and looks like a futuristic, first-person sports title that has you competing against another team to get a ball into a goal.

It looks like an eShop card right now. Though it looks like a real early version as while.

It looks really fun! Can't wait to play the final version, hoping it'll release this holiday. It doesn't look like an eShop game to me, I think it'll be a full retail game.

Meh, not so interesting.
But at least they announced a new IP.
They actually believe in new IP.

It turns out it's a Metroid spinoff.



I likely won't get it and I ca see why Next Level Games got there main Metroid trashed.

I mean I'm sure it'll be decent, but we were all expecting a new full-on Metroid game...I'll probably still end up getting it though. Should be fun. Hoping it has a single player campaign.

Metroids and Samus are part of the game, here's some other new details:

- use the second stick on the New 3DS to look around
- game also runs on the regular 3DS
- Blast Ball could serve as a replacement for a traditional tutorial
- concept for the game has been floating around for 10 years now
- single player mode
- no four against four player matches
- co-op four player mode where you fight as a team against space pirates
- three major planets
- roughly 10 different missions on each planet
- areas for you to look around and explore
- no visor scanning
- a mission involves Metroids
- Samus will make an appearance
- move around in mechs that are outfitted before each mission
- choose to be more of a “healer” by equipping repair capsules
- arm yourself with super missiles
- game is overseen by Nintendo’s Yoshihito Ikebata and Ryuichi Nakada

I still think will keep trashing the game since it's not there Prime 4. It's seems like the single player will take quite a bit of time though.

But you can't play as Samus; yea she may appear or what ever but if you can't play as her what's the point? Is all I'm saying. I'm still; so not interested in this game.

Impo; this title looks like something little kids would enjoy playing. [No offense to those who support it btw.] As of this moment: unless more interesting gameplay is shown; I'm not interested in this title.

Also I thought I'd add this: I just read that an online petition has reached 12,500 signatures so far for Nintendo to cancel this new Metroid game.

So there's that..

^ People are just blowing this way out of proportion. Trust me, if this game was revealed as simply "Federation Forces" and included "Blast Ball" literally nobody would care, in fact, I bet some people uninterested in it now would actually want the game.

Nintendo likes to come up with a concept and then fit it into an IP accordingly. They did the same for Kirby's Epic Yarn. (it was originally Prince Fluff's Epic Yarn) Or even Splatoon, which at one point had Mario characters, and they felt it didn't fit.

I'm sure the game on it's own will be decent for those who enjoy squad shooters like this. (or not at all if you don't ) It's just not at all what people wanted from a Metroid game.

I'm glad they cleared things up and sadly I feel like those hardcore fans just hit the dislike bar without even seeing what changed.

Looks really fun! I still don't get why people don't like Federation Force. It might not be entirely a new Metroid Prime game, but it looks like a nice multiplayer adventure shooter so it's definitely a buy in my book. I'm really hyped.
