What does everyone think of the new Tower Control mode?



From what I saw in the video it looks like a mode that takes some time to learn and the rollers seem to be almost useless if your on the tower.

Obviously we haven't played it yet, but from what I can tell it looks fun. It seems like a really interesting mode...of course, you'll be a constant target on the tower, so you'll have to cooperate quite a bit with other teammates making sure you're safe while on it.

And yeah rollers don't seem very useful, but I thought the same thing about certain weapons in other modes, and people are still able to do really well with them, so I guess we'll have to wait and see.

I've had fun with it so far! It's about what I was expecting. (Splat Zones was completely different than I was expecting, so I thought this one would be a bit different too, but it really isn't) It's definitely interesting, you have to be really aware of your surroundings, especially while on the tower. The enemies will be trying to steal the tower constantly so you always have to make sure they're not around while on the tower or that your teammates are fighting them. I tend to leave the tower even if it means they'll gain control of it when they're right in front of me. I can at least try to attack them from below since the edges of the tower are grated, whereas they'd kill you while on the tower pretty much instantly.

It's pretty difficult but I honestly think Splat Zones is harder.

So obviously Rainmaker's on the way tonight and Tower Control will be out of rotation for at least a few days. However, despite Nintendo saying otherwise in the past, it's been confirmed with a speed test that the tower actually goes faster when more people are riding it!

That's very interesting, Nintendo said multiple times that it DOESN'T go faster with more occupants. Huh. Well, that'll certainly change up my strategy, I tend to stay off the tower when somebody's on it. If there's not much competition in the area of the tower, it's probably best to have more than one person on it.

I kind of figured it want faster since the game ended quick when my full team was on the tower in a game before.
