Will Nintendo Direct Continue?

It might seem like a silly question to ask. I mean, why would Nintendo suddenly stop doing Nintendo Directs? It's an easy way to get consumers excited about Nintendo, inform them about upcoming content, and have fun all at the same time.

But something makes me think there's a chance they won't continue them...Iwata is the one who started up Nintendo Directs in the first place, and generally hosted them. There was even that period of time last year where we weren't getting Directs just because Iwata was sick and couldn't host them. It was kind of his thing. Will Nintendo just go back to doing normal PR like other companies? Or will they continue Directs?

I don't doubt they'll continue them, but I just think there's a chance they won't happen without Iwata, at least not as often. But I hope they keep doing them, I always get excited when they happen, and it's better than waiting until E3 every year just to hear about new games. Ugh now I'm really hopeful they don't stop...

While I think it will be more like the first couple Directs where Reggie and Shibata hosted for North America and Europe. That PR guy Morimoto will likely host for Japan and for global parts Miyamoto will likely appear as host until a new president is named.

I think they will still continue them.
Even if Reggie or Miyamoto or Takeda or whoever has to host them.

I sure hope so. But no one knows the future. I'm sure Nintendo will let the fans know what's going on.

I hope very much that they will continue the Nintendo Directs. Iwata seemed to host them most of the time and they stopped while he was sick. I have no idea what they will do now but hopefully they continue it with a host as great as Iwata. Bringing wonderful fun back to the directs and make them exciting to watch like Iwata did. Hopefully they continue them, though I don't think they'll do them until they get things straitened out. Except I think they'll still do Smash Directs as planned as Sakurai hosts some of them.

I sure hope so, Nintendo without a Direct would just be sad. /:

All this Nintendo news coming out is making me think there was supposed to be a Nintendo Direct this week, but there isn't due to Iwata's passing...

Don't give up on the Direct, usually news comes out in spurts anyway. :3 I'm not giving up hope on seeing another one until it's been a full year seeing a new one. ^^

^ True, there have been times where they just go to normal PR route, I guess we'll just have to wait and see. What does give me more hope is that Nintendo Minute has continued, and the logo for that has the same arrow thing that the Directs have.

While I'm sure we will see one in or before October where they detail a new Splatoon stage, a new Star Fox Zero trailer, Wolf returning to Smash Bros, possible Super Mario Maker DLC and what amiibo does in Star Fox Zero and Chibi- Robo! Zip Lash. If I recall they did that big PR email last Summer as while so maybe they just feel like it's not a good time for regular Nintendo Directs.

I always got the impression that Directs were the late Iwata-san's child, so not seeing an August Direct thus far is understandable. I guess we'd have to wait until October to see if they will be continuing or not.

^ I honestly feel at this point they may be waiting until December or January, it really doesn't seem like they have anything left to show off this year that would warrant a Direct before then, and they tend to focus more on holiday titles until they actually release.
