I'm Quitting Art.

I'm a pretty awful artist, so I went and got the help I desperately needed... Pokemon Art Academy. Learning a new and useful skill with all of my Pokemon Friends, what could go wrong!?

Well... looks like I'm just too much of a terrible worthless artist... that I can't even draw Pokemon right, it seems every time I tried something went wrong and just made it look... off. 

At first the game just gives you some chalk to try to learn some basic Pokemon with such as...

Piplup


Froakie




and Pikachu




But then the game starts throwing in some extra tools and techniques such as outlining, filling colour and such... 

Oshawott




Squirtle 




Chespin




and Tepig




I'm currently at a part of the game that's experimenting with angles, such as drawing the Pokemon's head looking from the side and with some more tools now available. 

Fenniken 




Meowth




and Torchic


That's all I have for now. I try so hard to be like my hero Ken Sugimori... but I can't even draw a Torchic right. I should never art ever again never ever fornever ever....

Those are so great, I love Ninja Squirtle and Mewoth the most. Actually, seeing this reminds me that the Game Grumps recently played Pokemon Art Academy and did something similar. It's hilarious to see what you come up with for the Pokemon, I love it.

How do you draw on a 3DS touch screen though, like how. It's not possible. :p

No, don't quit art, your drawings are much better than my drawings of Pokemon. XD

The artwork is better then anything I could draw and Ken has been at it for 20 years now.

Why did you torture me in the sense that you'd actually be a horrible artist?

Yes! It was after I drew Fenniken a twitter user introduced me to that and said they made the same furry Fenniken joke, I stopped watching Game Grumps after Jon left, but I gotta be honest... I quite liked what I saw of that series and of course the art!

Pissing around aside, this game does seem pretty good at teaching some basics of art, the amount of freedom you get during the "lessons" is great too (as seen above, haha!) 

Good ol' Ken. I'm personally a fan of his older style... it's a shame none of Ken's work has been featured in this game yet... even more so since it's got a heavy influence on Pokemon Cards.

I feel my joke may have been misunderstood a bit, I really have no intentions of quitting art. 

I was just trying to act as if I tired hard to draw the Pokemon exactly as the tutorials but somehow would end up messing them up to make them look like other characters or just weird looking. Maybe it was terribly dry British humor or something, haha! 

Anyway, I've not stopped doodling on the ol' Art Academy and if you guys are interested in seeing more I'll be happy to post 'em! Thanks again for all the support, and sorry for any confusion. X3

Yeah I got the joke, but I can see some people who don't even know what the Pokemon look like getting confused. XD

I got the joke. It's a funny one and the drawings are very nice. I like how Piplup looks like King Dedede and they all have some sweet coloring. I'd like to see more Dark Jester.

I should get that Pokemon Art Academy, I always wanted to improve my art skills. My drawings are terrible compared to yours. I hope you continue to make great art.
