What's the best console that was a commercial failure?

Many video game consoles have released and become huge failures. Of course, there's always reasoning behind it, whether that was SEGA releasing way too many consoles at once without many games, or Nintendo trying to sell us a "portable" console that would supposedly have virtual reality capabilities. But sometimes the console is good and just doesn't catch on. What was your favorite console that ended up being a commercial failure?

I have to go with the SEGA Dreamcast. It had a decent amount of good games, and I feel like had it continued doing well and having games released for it, it could've been a notable and great console. Unfortunately this wasn't the case, but personally I think it's for the better in the long run with SEGA now being a third party to all consoles.

For me it's the Gamecube since a lot of people tend to think of it as a commercial failure, yet it's my favorite Nintendo console next to the Wii hands down. There are a lot of great games on the Gamecube that are really pretty good impo.

(Btw: I don't agree with the Dreamcast being the greatest, only because a lot of games were ported to the PS2 from the Dreamcast anyway.)

I will also go with the Dreamcast since it had a good lineup of games for a while and Sega at least put out quite a few unique games that did not star Sonic at all.

I have to agree with the Sega Dreamcast, it had quite a few good games. I like the unusual controller design as well.

Definitely the GameCube if you consider it a commercial failure. My only issue was all the problems I had with memory cards. It has some of my favorite games of all time.

I have to mention the Virtual Boy, I wouldn't want to look into one and it's quite poor in many ways but something is charming about the design of the thing. The red display reminds of the Game Boy's green display. It's a well known failure.

Depends what you call a failure.
The GameCube had decent sales, was never called a failure, but it didn't reach its goal, yet I find it had an excellent library of games.
The Wii U, similar situation, only it missed its goals by a larger margin, despite having a great library of games.
