Now we're really getting there. Mega Gallade is one awesome Mega Evolution. From the way it enters the field, the way it presents itself is just phenomenal. It gets even more awesome when you're battling against Wally and the theme that plays is just glorious. Not only did it leave a lasting impression during the game, but it's also a very powerful Pokemon. Despite having a useless ability, everything else benefits it, having gained noticeable boosts in Attack and Speed. As soon as it sets up a Swords Dance, prepare to have your team feel a huge dent, as a +2 Close Combat coming from something with 165 Attack will feel like an anvil falling on your head. And the cape that it gets. That is awesome.

Oh boy. And you thought there wouldn't be any more ridiculously powerful Mega Evolutions after Mega Kangaskhan. Mega Salamence is one of the most fearsome threats in all of Pokemon. It was so ridiculously strong that it got banned from OU only 7 days after the release of ORAS. It wasn't even suspect tested, it was quickbanned. Even in the land of Ubers, it's still one of the most dominant forces there. When Mega Salamence comes on the field, be prepared to lose a considerable number of your team just to figure out what set it's running. Oh, and revenge killing this thing is notoriusly difficult due to its stupidly high 95/130/90 defenses, with its physical defense rivaling that of Skarmory, and that's not even factoring in Intimidate and the fact that you can just invest in defenses due to Aerilate's massive power boost. Not even Mamoswine can OHKO this thing with a 4x effective Ice Shard. Its offenses are not a joke either, with 145 Attack and 120 Special Attack, combined with 120 Speed, outspeeding even Raikou. It's capable of breaking through things that would otherwise be bulky, such as Ferrothorn and Landorus-T, with an unboosted Return. Even the Pokemon that resist Aerilate Return aren't safe, as you can just run things like Fire Blast for Skarmory, Earthquake for Heatran, and Outrage for Rotom. And you also have to be on your toes for sets like Sub Dragon Dance 2 attacks, Roost 3 attacks, Dragon Dance 3 attacks, Dragon Dance Roost 2 attacks, Dragon Dance Refresh, fully Special, mono-attacking Dragon Dance, etc. People ran things like Porygon2, Hidden Power Ice Rotom, Cresselia, Zapdos, and even Choice Scarf Greninja, which were otherwise relatively uncommon, just to get past this thing. Mega Salamence really created a huge impact and would forever leave a legacy.

I used a Mega Salamanca in the main game and it pretty much took care of the elite four alone. As for competitive play it was the right call to ban it from OU.

    Jinx's Top 20 ORAS Mega Evolutions - Page 3 Rayquaza-mega
You thought Mega Salamence wasn't enough? Well then, gaze in awe at what is the most powerful Pokemon ever created, Mega Rayquaza. With a BST of 780 and both attacking stats being base 180, this thing really pushed the limits on Pokemon. While both Mega Mewtwos also have a BST of 780, they're limited by the fact that they have to hold Mega Stones. The Primal Reversions also are limited due to needing to hold an Orb. Mega Rayquaza, on the other hand, does not have any item restrictions; instead, it only needs to know Dragon Ascent, which is already an incredibly powerful move. That means that Mega Rayquaza can hold whatever item it wants; Choice Band, Life Orb, Lum Berry, etc. While Arceus also has a BST above 700, it is limited by its ability Multitype, which is useless if it does not hold a plate. Mega Rayquaza's ability Delta Stream can help it survive Electric-, Ice-, and Rock-type attacks that would normally KO it; not even Mega Mewtwo Y can OHKO it with Ice Beam. Its sheer power ensures that even things like Palkia are OHKO'd, Arceus takes a huge chunk of health, and Primal Groudon falls after a single Swords Dance (or 2 Dragon Dances). And forget about trying to wall it with something like Lugia, as even that falls to a +2 Dragon Ascent, or 2 of them if it has Multiscale. This thing was such a stupidly powerful threat that it was the first Pokemon ever to be banned from Ubers, and a new tier, called Anything Goes, had to be created just to contain it! And in Anything Goes, you can play as dirty as you want, since there are absolutely no clauses (except Endless Battle Clause). You want to use a team of 6 Arceuses? Go ahead. You want to have a Moody Smeargle Baton Pass boosts to something that's very powerful? Go ahead. You want to annoy everyone to death using a team of 6 Swagger Klefki? Go ahead. Broken? Hah, that's not even a powerful enough word to describe how insane this thing is. Mega Rayquaza, to sum it up, is RBY Mewtwo if it had a gun in a swordfight. Game Freak, I salute you for defying the limits of Pokemon by creating this absolute monstrosity.

    Jinx's Top 20 ORAS Mega Evolutions - Page 3 Diancie-mega
And now, there's only one Mega Evolution left, and that is Mega Diancie. Just by looking at her, I could already tell that she was going to be great. She looks like a magical girl who has awakened the ultimate power. That is just glamorous. In the movie Diancie and the Cocoon of Destruction, she blocked an Oblivion Wing from Yveltal just by creating a huge diamond for a shield! She's not just awesome in the anime, she's just as awesome in the games. For start, she plays completely differently from her base form. While her base form focused more on tanking hits, her Mega Evolution turns that around and instead makes her dishing out powerful hits with boosted offenses and Speed. With Diamond Storm, she can hit all adjacent opponents and have a chance to boost Defense in the process. Add in moves like Rock Polish and Calm Mind, and Moonblast and Earth Power for coverage, and you've got yourself a very threatening sweeper. She also has another weapon, just in case you think you can dispose of her by having a status inducer like Thundurus or Sableye: Magic Bounce, which will throw a wrench in your plans. Even some Ubers like Darkrai, Yveltal, Lugia, and Ho-Oh have trouble dealing with her due to this, and in Anything Goes, the ability to screw up Smeargle and Klefki will come in handy. She's everything I wanted out of Mega Evolution: charming appearance, impressive battling capabilities, and a feel of uniqueness, which are the reasons why Mega Diancie is #1.

You know a Pokemon is broken when it's put into the anything goes class. As for Mega Diancie I recall everyone disliking the idea when it was first reveled and people did a 180 when it turned out to be a good Pokemon.
