Servers Won't Be Shut Down Anytime Soon

Some people were a bit worried Splatoon servers might be ending soon due to NX release, Splatfests ending, etc. But Nintendo has made a statement saying it will.

[For Splatoon the] general online experience and service will continue.

Hopefully this means for awhile! I can't live without Splatoon.

I can see the servers lasting until 2020 at least and this is pretty much a dumb thing to ask right now since we don't even know if the NX will be using a server or not.

It's good to hear that the online experience will continue for now. It'd be horrible if Splatoon loses that, a game with such heavy online focus would suffer miserably without it. Hopefully it stays for a long time and we don't lose everything again so soon like with the Nintendo Wifi servers shutting down back in 2014.

I think we'll be having the Nintendo Network for awhile, I don't see the NX ditching the service in favor of something else. I think they would improve Nintendo Network instead.
