[RUMOR] New Nintendo Direct coming soon?

It seems that it's entirely possible we could be getting a new Nintendo Direct next week, even after just having one a few weeks ago.

- on the Japanese Nintendo Direct page, a slot opened up about a week before the last direct aired
- apparently this is part of a pattern, and has been happening with other Directs
- today, another slot opened up in the same manner on the Nintendo Direct page

I'm not entirely sure how accurate this would really be, but it has been happening for each Direct in recent memory. So I suppose we'll have to wait and see what happens!

It could be a Direct that announces Pokemon Stars given the fact that ORAS was announced in May or it could be a Micro Direct like the one we had in 2015.

The main things I've read for possible reveals if a Direct is scheduled in the next fortnight are
- PokeStars
- M+LSSSDX
- another pre launch ARMS direct
and then some real stretches like the Rabbids Mario thing (which probably makes more sense at ubisoft's own E3 conference)

I'm guessing this is for a Splatoon 2 Direct at the end of the month or in early July.

Yeah I have no doubt that would mean a Splatoon 2 Direct is on the way. I feel like we know weirdly little information on that game considering it releases so soon. Not that I want everything to be spoiled but it just seems really odd.

Another slot opened up after the Splatoon 2 Direct was added.




So I think it could be a regular Direct, Platinum Games Direct, Kirby Direct, Fire Emblem Warriors Direct or a Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle Direct.

I hope it's a regular direct focusing on the Switch.

I could see it being a Kirby Direct just because we still don't know anything about that new 3DS game releasing supposedly this winter. It could also be an Animal Crossing Direct showing off the mobile game and perhaps a first look at the Switch game. Otherwise I honestly have no idea, I don't think a new regular Direct is coming so soon after E3, but it is possible.

^ and ^^ though I'm not sure what else could be announced for a Kirby direct since the date of the 25th anniversary was some months past

Switch still has a lot of QOL features missing which are worth directing for... I guess?

Another thought is it could be a Nintendo Direct Mini like they did sometime in 2015. In that case it could go over just a few smaller upcoming games for both Switch and 3DS and cover a few details on games we don't know much about. (like the 3DS Kirby game I mentioned before)
