    First Impressions Empty First Impressions

Post by Dark Jester Sun Feb 24, 2013 1:54 pm

Well, I just played this for the first time. Here are my first impressions.

The game was decent, no technical flaws like controls or awkward menus, the battles ran smoothly and the little stories they're putting in the game are nice.

It looks pretty amazing, I mean I've played some SNES games but the ones that have this feel just really give the game a kick!

For some reason I didn't really tell when to call it a day with it, save points where kind of awkward and I didn't know what was around the corner... I feel like need needs a slower pace where you're not doing much... or you need to activate an event yourself so that you can take a break.

I can see how Mario and Luigi borrowed a lot from this, and I can see it being a good adventure... but we'll soon see.

    Here are some snap-shot highlights!

    Spoiler:

So, do you remember your first impressions of the game? What did you think?

I loved this game when I first played it. It was better than PM1 but not as good as PM:TTYD.

    It's just really cool.

My first impressions were just that it was like Mario and Luigi...but not really as fun. I liked the game ever since I started playing though, and thought it had good graphics for the SNES.

Ah, so you're like me Zero... you played Mario and Luigi first... I agree with you for the most part, but I personally feel both of 'em are fun... and have their own styles and feels...

I'm not sure how it compares with PM though... maybe that should be next on my play list. XD

Well Paper Mario was originally Super Mario RPG 2, so it would assumedly be similar. Really all of them are similar, but I think Mario RPG and M&L are more similar to each other than Paper Mario.

Oh, I actually was suppose to ask you this, why did you find it more boring?

I don't really know...I just had more fun playing Mario and Luigi before it than I did while playing Mario RPG. The game itself isn't boring to me though.

Oh no of course not, it's just if there was a reason that it were "less fun" than Mario and Luigi...

Maybe it's just a case of it just being that way... going by the two intros I didn't find more more or less pleasing than the other to be honest... I guess the style of Super Mario RPG could be frowned upon though, with M&L's greater sense of humor...
