Libraries

I hear a lot about Libraries here on the site, you guys seem to love 'em... (yet didn't respond too well to my Book thread, ironically)

So, tell me about 'em! What do you like about them, what do you do there? Do you even go there!?


I personally don't, I don't tend to read books for information, I use the internet. If there are stories I want to read then I also order the books, rather than borrow them...

I also wouldn't use a computer there, as I have one of my own already, so what's the point?

The Library I have is also a bus-ride away in town, so I can't just casually lurk there, I know there is one of them Library Book Vans at my local shops every Thurday or something... but again, no real interest in books at the moment. ^-^;

I can't believe I wasn't the one to make this thread. I go to the library every once in a while, but usually they don't really have any books that I would like.

About what you said with the computers, they'd be good for me currently sine I don't have an actual computer to use at the moment.

So every time you're online... you're actually at a Library?

I have other ways to use the internet, but a computer has different 'things', like programs I may need to use or something.

Ah I see, this explains why you asked "What do you use to get online" as a question a few times on the Ask Me board.

What kind of programs do you need to use that the Library computer offers? I'd assume it's for school stuff.

Usually it is.

I need to use a word processor often, that's mostly all I would do on the computers there...

This is just recently though, and I do have another computer, I'm just too lazy to actually hook it up.

Seems less effort to put in your own computer than to go to the library. XD

Lol. Maybe, but the other one is getting fixed now...so there's not much of a point in that now. Maybe I actually will put that other one somewhere though, it's still working fine.

No point in wasting it after all, It could even just be used as an extra monitor or something.

Maybe, or so that I could actually use a computer. But the tablet I usually use is actually just fine for internet browsing for me.

Uh I never go to the library, I'm not much of a reader, I mean I will if I'm supposed to, but I never read recreationally.

Although I do enjoy a good book myself from time to time, I can see why so many people can't get into reading, even more so in an age where technology is dominant.

That's a shame...

You can't pay attention in what sense? The concept of reading and imagining the visuals of the story isn't gripping to you, or do you just have a hard time reading in general?
