I have this on the N64 and Virtual Console on the Wii Menu thru the Wii U. Did you know it was originally titled "Yoshi's Island 64"? What did you all like about it? How will this be influential to Yarn Yoshi?
I never owned Yoshi's Story, but I have played it before. I never actually played all that much of it, but what I did play was fairly fun. I can see why it was originally called Yoshi's Island 64, because it plays similarly to Yoshi's Island. It's weird how it's design is set up though, it's not quite 3D, but it's not 2D either...it's similar to Kirby 64 in that way, but in that you only went one way.
The game itself was fun, but the way the levels work are kind of annoying, being able to start by choosing four different levels, then going to the next unlocking more based on the amount of heats you find. I feel like if all the levels went in a line then it would've been better than what it is, and don't get me wrong this is one of my favorite N64 games, I just felt that it was a little lacking with amount of levels. But it does allow you to go back and play any level once you beat it in the story mode...I like the game, wish the story mode was a bit better.
Though I liked Yoshi's Story, I was pretty much dissapointed by the short length of this game. But I would call this game underrated- this is still a very nice game.
