Sakurai wrote:Pic of the day. For the 3DS version, you can select alternate tracks for stages by holding down the R Button while you select the stage--the brown drop shadow that frames the stage image when you hold down the R Button indicates the alternate track is active. For the Living Room stage, the alternate track is the vocal version of the default track. Songs with vocals aren't the best match for battles, but the song was too good to leave out, so this is how we chose to include it. Also, For the Boxing Ring, if you select the stage while holding down the L Button, you can play on the Smash Bros. version of the stage. If you hold down the Y Button, you can choose to play on the Punch Out! version. These variations are usually selected at random, but this method lets you select them manually.

I guess this cool how you can change the track that way but, I think the Wii U version handles it better since you turn off music you don't like in my music. It also cool how you can play on the Smash Bros version of the Boxing Ring if you hold L when you pick the stage but, I would rather play on the Punch Out version though.

I think that's a good idea, but couldn't you just use the same button or some slider on the touch screen? It's kind of confusing to have 3 different buttons for pretty much the same thing.

This was posted on the Facebook page but, it's likely the pic of the day even though a second pic might be added when the Miiverse update happens.

Sakurai wrote:In the 3DS version, your fighter gets outlined by your team color. So, how does this work in the Wii U version? Check out this screenshot. In this picture, the outlines may seem faint, but the color intensity is consistent. This means that the farther away and smaller your fighter appears on the screen, the clearer the colors will look.

That cool how the outlines are clearer in the Wii U version but, I feel like they don't stand out like the 3DS ones do.

I agree, they really don't seem to, at least in the screenshot. But maybe they'll be a bit clearer in the actual game, that screenshot isn't HD after all.

Missiles are launched towards the Orbital Gate! The force field shields the machinery for a while, and the missiles eventually get shot down by team Star Fox. Overall, this stage feels like a ride. It's pretty hectic, so hold on tight! The Arwings are passing through the gate! And the fighters hop on for a free ride!!

I'm glad that this stage is not just on the Great Fox again and I have to say that this is likely going to be the best Star Fox stage yet since you hop on different ships. I also think that Falco, Slippy and Krystal might say something if you taunt using Fox.

Woah, way better than any other Star Fox stage. XD That's an interesting part to take from, but it makes the stage more interesting. I can't wait to play that one.

In this game, the players aim by choosing one of eight directions to shoot using a second joystick separate from the one that controls movement. It was quite a revolutionary game for its time. For shooting games overseas, it's common to see games that utilize the left stick to move around and the right to determine the direction to shoot, so we can say the origin of modern shooting games was this game--which is pretty remarkable.

Sheriff is one of the oldest characters in the game and It's always nice to see some classic characters as an AT.

Woah, I honestly wasn't expecting them to use anything from Sheriff, that's a bit strange, but it's a nice choice for an Assist Trophy. It's cool to see him in the game.

With the game released globally, from here on out I'll be posting about some of the hidden elements in the game. However, for now they'll only trickle down a little bit at a time. I'll be done with posting new pics by the end of the year, so I hope you'll enjoy the rest of the ride.

So it seems like the pic of the day will go on until the end of the year and I think from now on there will be at least one hidden stage or character show every week. Also it's hard to believe that it's been 3 years since Iwata announced the game at E3 and now it's out everywhere.

It's nice to see those 3 back and I really did not think that much hidden stuff would be show on day 1 of the worldwide release date.  We also got to the new Magicant stage and the returning WarioWare and Onent stages. Lastly there's still 6 blank boxes on the website since the hidden fighters get there own section.

Here's a new stage posted by the Facebook page.

This seems to be Great Cave Offensive from Kirby Super Star. The stage looks cool and I guess this means the Tower of Smash leak is fake since this stage was not listed.
