How do you pronounce the year?

I've heard multiple times before people pronounce 2013 (or any year 2010 and after) differently than I do...so I was wondering, how do you pronounce it? "Two thousand thirteen" or "twenty thirteen"?

Personally I pronounce it like the former.

I've gotten used to saying twenty instead of two thousand, so when I hear people say two thousand thirteen, it sounds odd to me, but plenty of people say it both ways.

Usually the latter for 2010 and all subsequent years (so, "twenty-ten", "twenty-eleven" etc.)

However, Jeremy Paxman is really awkward about this on University Challenge. When he asks the questions, he does that for the years 2001-09 too (so, for example, "twenty-oh-six" for 2006). I guess it's more consistent, but practically nobody else in the entire universe does that....

^ Lol that is a bit strange. I'm fairly certain that I haven't heard anybody pronounce it that way, but there has to be at least a few other people in the world who DO say it that way.

I say 'twenty thirteen'. But it also depends on whom I'm speaking with too. xp
