Control Stick or Control Pad?

I'm pretty sure the answer will be the same for most people, but do you prefer control sticks or control pads?

Personally I prefer control sticks. But my problem with them is that they randomly start moving by themselves. This isn't a problem with the consoles like GCN or PS2 because you can just unplug them, but with wireless controllers it's really annoying. And I never have this problem with a control pad, but literally every single console I've used with a control stick does have the problem.

But I do still prefer using the control stick as it's more comfortable and responsive.

I prefer control sticks over pads primarily for the feeling of the stick. With the pad I always feel like I'm going to tug it too hard and it's going to break, kinda paranoid yes, but I feel I can be a little more rough with a control stick.

I also like control sticks better since there more comfortable then the control pads and like Cubone I play it safe with the control pad.
