Most Overrated Characters

What characters do you feel don't deserve the attention they're receiving?

For me, it's Geno, the Koopalings, Groose, Kratos, Cloud, and Jet the Hawk.

For me, Bowser Jr. (For unoriginality and his terrible voice) and Squall from Final Fantasy 8 (I found him to be very annoying) are very overrated.

Oh yea I agree with: Bowser Jr, Squall (FF8), Kratos & Geno (fo' shizzle). I'd also like to add into the mix: Lightning (FF13), Mario (who has no character AT ALL), & Ganondorf (He's just a humanized version of Bowser if you think about it. *hides*).

^ Someone who actually agrees with me about Mario? I know he's very iconic, but that's it, he has no personality and is really not much of a character at all. I know most characters in that series don't, but at least some have more than him, Luigi and Rosalina are pretty fleshed out.

Anyway, I'd like to add Ridley. Maybe it's just because so many people want him in Smash Bros, but a lot of people seem to love Ridley in general as well. I don't think he's a very interesting boss honestly. Most Zelda bosses are also pretty overrated.

Rosalina's recent surge of popularity seems almost forced to me with her sudden importance in the newer titles...

Don't get me wrong, but oh boy - seeing some Rosalina fans on places such as GameFAQs is extremely difficult. Praising her to being as important as the core Mario characters especially with her recent addition to Smash Bros. just doesn't seem right about now...maybe in the future, yes, but she's much too recent as of now imo.

Also indeed, Ridley gets an honorable mention too. If Smash Bros. was to have any mascot for discussions, it's Ridley for sure.

^ Well, Rosalina being in Smash Bros. really isn't a reason to call her overrated, I mean, look at that leaked roster for the newest game, she has to at least be more important than DUCK HUNT DOG of all characters. But even so, I don't think she's just overrated for being used in games more often lately, it's moreso just the fans wanting her to be in these games that make her seem that way. (imo)

I take it someone wasn't very good at Duck Hunt. Don't take your anger out on the dog, he's got a family to feed.

You do have a point Zero as Rosalina's fans have been rather vocal about her lately. However, I don't like the approach Nintendo is taking for her. Her mysterious personality seems to have been disappearing lately imo as she suddenly became a playable character in SM3DW. Maybe it's just me, but I just don't see her adventuring out like that. She seems more like a protector...

Also I wouldn't call Duck Hunt Dog that obscure. Sure, he's not the most detailed nor popular Nintendo character as of now, but Duck Hunt was HUGE back in the day and so many people really hated the dog back then due to his taunts. xD He was definitely one of the big icons during the NES days with his laughing animation. I'm sure many will find pleasure in fighting against him soon.

How is Squall overrated? If anything he's downplayed by the likes of Cloud and Lightning lol. I have an obsession with FF8 though so I could have a bias.

Anyways, I would agree with Ridley and Wii Fit Trainer.
