Mewtwo (DLC)

So does anyone think they will even play as Mewtwo much?

I will obviously try him out, but I never really enjoyed using him in Melee, so I likely won't even use him all that much honestly. That's why I'm still holding out hope for more DLC characters.

In fact, I probably will never use Mewtwo.

When  played with someone else during Melee, we'd generally play as Mewtwo because he really liked him, though I wasn't a fan, so I probably won't be.

I don't think I'm going to use Mewtwo much. Of course I'll use try him a few times and if he's required for his trophies or something else. I'll probably use him more than the other Pokemon minus Greninja, I never really cared much for Pikachu, Lucario, or Jigglypuff.

I have a feeling we will see at least a teaser image of him fighting soon and finally see him in action close to release.

Sakurai has confirmed Mewtwo is nearly finished and will be coming soon.

About the delivery of MewTwo that everyone is worrying about, it is pretty much done. We are planning to release MewTwo, so please wait for the announcement. We plan to release MewTwo pretty soon.

This is good, I'm hoping for an early April release then. Maybe we'll get new info in the Nintendo Direct that's bound to come this week.

He will likely be live after the next Direct happens. Maybe the interview also has some embargo stuff.

*Mewtwo is downloadable content. This fighter can only be used once you have purchased and downloaded the required content. Players who received a download code through Club Nintendo can download the content starting 4/15/2015. Starting 4/28/15, the Mewtwo DLC will be available for purchase. His attacks seem like his Melee moveset and I knew Mega Y would be the one picked after it got it's own movie.

It looks like some people are getting the codes early.

Players who registered both the Nintendo 3DS and Wii U versions of Super Smash Bros. on Club Nintendo are eligible for an early and free download code to play as Mewtwo. Throughout the next 24 hours, players shall be receiving their download codes via e-mail, and they will be redeemable starting on April 15th and ending on September 30th.

In order to actually redeem the code, the player will need to use the in-game shop option on the 3DS version, and the player will need to use the Nintendo eShop on the Wii U version. However, the code will only be applicable once the latest version (v1.0.6) has been downloaded.

Players who did not previously register Super Smash Bros. on Club Nintendo will have to wait until April 28th to download the character, who will cost $3.99 for either the Wii U or 3DS or $4.99 for both. The process for downloading Mewtwo at this time will likely remain the same.

If any more information is released about the subject or process, it will be posted here on the website. But, for players that are planned to receive an early download code: be on the look-out for an e-mail! You should be getting one soon!

I don't get the reason for sending out the codes early and it's strange how only the 3DS version is getting an in game shop.

Yeah that's really weird, if only one version is getting a shop, it should be the Wii U version...I mean, I guess it's fine that way, just seems kind of strange they would add one to the 3DS version but not on Wii U.
